One of the things I've hated about dating is the repetitiveness of it. Dinner, movie, rinse, repeat. That's why I was so excited to stumble across this
article, "Very Definitely Not Dinner and A Movie". The article suggests 50 creative date ideas, including a sugarhigh date (who knows what you'll do once you've had your fill of cheap sweetness) and pretending to be tourists.
Some of my more creative dates with my current boyfriend include a spontaneous bonfire on the beach and a trip to get ice cream/visit the attached petting zoo. Planned for the near future are a picnic with fake sparkling champagne.
What is the most creative date you've ever been on?editor's note: playground, cupcake and NYTimes crossword dates are my favorites from the list :) fabulously nerdy.

Hmm. I've not been on very many actual dates, but I guess a playground counts as one of 'em.
I went on a date to the moon.
a five hour subway ride around the city
not fancy at all, but to this day, i still remember almost all of that conversation =)
Tree climbing dates are FUN :)
What I really want to do is when we both go to Japan, Karaoke and then the public bath-lol okay I don't know if I would go to a mixed gender one but
Hmm it's hard to say. The boyfriend and I don't really do anything creative or out-of-the-ordinary anymore. It mainly is just dinner and movie, which is so overdone. Sometimes we do random things like looking at toys at Wal-Mart and swinging on the swings and racing each other at the playground in the evening. Other times its going to the duckpond at my college and just enjoying nature. I would really like to go on a picnic, but he never wants to. Ugh. I guess my days of fun dates are over. -Although recently, we did go indoor rock climbing, but that turned out bad because my friend broke her pelvis. SO that wasn't fun. =/
While on spring break in San Antonio, we took a spontaneuos roadtrip to Austin, ate at the Spaghetti Factory, visited a history museum, and saw an I-MAX movie. We've also went to a park near his house to get cozy in a plastic tunnel =], and climbed on the roof of a high school to stargaze.
Wow, after reading that link that you posted, I am now aware that the SO and I are very boring and it makes me sad =( I think he likes being boring because he never wants to do anything!!!!
It was an adventure up and down Miami Beach. Best 7 hours of my life!
Oh, man, so many good times, some too ex-rated for this place.
But I remember me and my first boyfriend baked this Pac Man cake and topped it with a bunch of random shit and drove over to my friend's house who was sick, and gave him the cake, telling him it was for his birthday even though it was over 4 months past his b-day.
My last boyfriend, we spent an afternoon doodling over his driveway and sidewalk with giant, humongous chalk. His parents were like, what the fuck.
ahhh <3
We went to Chapters and read books about sex
i cooked for him, and we had a picnic on one of the nice days, at a popular park :]. or ferry, aquarium, sitting in front of a huge water panel of the aquarium, dancing under the moonlight in the parking lot. and etc. there's been some i guess.
a day by the river nuff said
does sleeping on a rock and picnic at central park counts?
oh how i miss those days! lol
i've done tree climbing from the list. museum date. pretending to be tourists. (statue of liberty!) and the arcade thing!
and that article is really cute!
I've gone hiking and just sat and watched the view which is just great! even if they're not very talkative.
We got dressed up once and went to the beach. There's a boardwalk with roller coasters but it was closed so we played Mini golf then took a nap on the beach. Then went to a fancy dinner.
:]
I've gone kite flying, had tea parties, made sushi, and recently played Sims 3.
We're making 2 Sims and building a house together. It's so much fun and it's almost guaranteed that I'll have a reason t come over for hours!
:D
we sat outside on the racetrack of his high school and gave each other piggy back rides :]
it wasn't supposed to be a date but it felt like one
renting a tandem bike, eating hotdogs from the street and taking random pictures with a disposible camera is one of my favorites! :)
gone to the aquarium by foot, walking into stanley park, and renting a kayak to paddle out to false creek. (all in one day!)
horse backriding is awesome too... haven't done that in years!
@Pinto_rider@xanga - very awesome. (:
my most favorite date was when i went parasailing with my ex in san francisco. it was awesome. second best date was when we went to nyc and went on romantic ride in a horse and buggy around central park.
watch a horror movie :)
- Burying a time capsule (and then later, unburying the time capsule, because we were so impatient)
- GPS Adventures! Typing random words into the GPS and going to the places (usually restaurants) that came up
- Spinning Contest
- Creating an elaborate sidewalk chalk drawing
- Practicing our ballroom dancing in an empty parking lot with the car doors open so we could hear the waltz music from the car stereo
- Staging an epic battle between us and a band of plastic pirate figurines and then documenting the whole thing with photos :)
We are bored easily, haha
nothing that biiig. but my bf & i recently went hiking, and when we reached the top i passed the fuck out because that was the most amount of walking i've ever done in one go. haha, then he looked after me the whole day.
yeeep, i loved the bit where he was my slave for the day. muahahahh. >:)
Can't do this one every day but picked her up, drove to the bridge/overpass and watched the fireworks over the lake followed by laying under the stars and a little monkey business when I drove my Jeep way back into the woods.
Walked around the mall before a movie (Lame I know) and checked out the air bed store. Got fitted for an air bed and found our sleep numbers, it was hilarious!
Me and an ex were together during the fourth of july and we cuddled under the fireworks, climbing to a giant hill and having a picnic at the god tree, staying home and watching a movie while smoking weed and cuddling and fooling around
the last one is my favorite i would do this with my ex all the time, and it was favorite thing to do to pass the time <3
this guy i was seeing took me to the humane society and we played with puppies and kittens
All the dates I've been on recently with my current Love interest have been very creative (to me. I might just think they're creative because I was deprived of date creativity in my last relationship.)
But, anywho,
Our first date. He took me out to dinner (this is the normal not creative part.) then we drove around finding something to do. We ended up decided to go Ice skating. (our first date took place on V-day so there was still ice skating) then on our venture back to my house (where my sister was hosting a girls only baking party) we played 20 questions. in between date one and date two we went on mini dessert dates.
Our second date. He took me to dinner (we go to a different restaurant on every date). then we went mini golfing. It was a blast! after that he drove me downtown and we took a walk. (this date took place in April) we stopped at a small ice cream shop, got ice cream and continued to walk around, talk and eat our snack. (this date was also my birthday date so I got a birthday present along with the best time of my life.)
once again mini dessert dates in between two and three.
Our third date was very spur of the moment And it's also the most recent date. I had just gotten home from Wisconsin. He missed me and wanted to do something. He texted me and asked me if i wanted to go get dinner. (not creative, but once again we go somewhere new every time). after dinner he said that we were going to the beach to watch the sunset. (this was a june date) SO SWEET! This was definitely one of my favorites. but I think my most favorite was the second date.
