  • Are Siblings Off-Limits?

    Miss Rhino

Rule #7: If you want to date a friend's brother, it is required that you get said friend's permission.

I consulted Urban Dictionary's definition of "girl code" to find out what the stance was on siblings. This sudden interest in friend/sibling relations is due to the recently-passed graduation season where attractive siblings run amok during what is arguably the wildest weekend of one's college career. Temptation is all around in the form of older siblings funneling beer after beer trying to re-live their glory days as a college student (not to mention the younger ones who are taking this time to warm up for their own upcoming college experience.) And sadly for one of my friends, the girl code was brought to its knees...

She is Annie's roommate and best friend throughout her four years of college. She is 22 and single.
He is Annie's older brother. He is 27 and a college AND law school graduate. He is devastatingly handsome.
The scene of the crime: University of Delaware, graduation weekend

I think you all know where this story is going. Celebration leads to inebriation leads to .... friend/sibling "relations". Two nights in a row. In Annie's apartment. With her in the other room. Only an earshot away. No doubt the founders of the "Girl Code" are rolling over in their graves right now. Having met said brother myself, I cannot blame the girl. In a perfect world, he would be the Brad to my Jen (I still haven't accepted Angelina). And of course my first thought was: Why not me!? But after regaining my composure, I had to ask the question...

Casually sleeping with your friend's brother/sister. All good? ...or no good?
