Miss Walrus
As of late, my love life has been pretty nonexistent. I blame it on lots of things: hanging out with same friends as my ex, partying at the same places weekend after weekend, being way too wrapped up in school to even fathom the idea of a relationship. But thanks to
Richard Florida and the creative class exchange, I now have another factor to blame for my singleness.
According to
The Singles Map, not only does my university have more female students than males, my whole freakin' city and the surrounding area is full of far more single women than men. In fact, single women pretty much dominate the eastern part of the United States.
But for whatever reason you ladies on the west coast have it made - with almost 90,000 more single men than women in the Los Angeles and Orange County area! So although I don't exactly have time for a BF right now, at least I can place the blame on extraneous factors and not my own inability to handle a relationship. And you better believe I'm headin' out west after graduation! Check out the map and see how your city stacks up.

LA and orange county, ftw!
hahaha =P
Yea, but not all single males are looking for relationships!
My boyfriend hangs out with a lot of single males... out of their group of 8 or so, only 3 have girlfriends. But they're all very long term happy relationships... Just observing, I guess? That's just weird though... Guess I've had it easy my whole life. :P
Are you freakin' serious?! Holy crap, I'm right in the middle of two big pockets of single women! Looks like I got some work to do *sprays cologne* =D
Where I'm moving within the next year has like, 20,000 more single men than women. Where I live now, there are about 2500 more single women than men.
Jebus, no wonder all the parties out here are sausage fests!
How did they know all of that?
Wow. Why am I missing the single ladies? *sniffs self*
...My brain just imploded...there was a blog about men getting constantly rejected, on a daily basis on Mancouch...(http://www.mancouch.com/703155034/the-ugly-truth-about-what-men-really-think-about-women/) <<--- Number 1
And now, this blog comes up...soo...what are we doing wrong?!?! Are women rejecting too many men and "karma" is taking effect? Are womens standards too high? Is there a ratio, that there is 10 women for every man?
My head has imploded :D
let me move there if i get to be single :]
i'm not sure if single women outnumbered single men but i did see a statistic one time that the number of unmarried men from the ages of 18-30 was twice the number of single women the same age range.
there's just a lot more women than men in this world.
the funniest part of male to female ratios, especially at colleges, is the different ways the culture of the area changes in reference to the male to female ratio. there's some really hilarious sociology work done it!
it would've been nice being in a male saturated university *sigh*
Forget that, come on down to the 4th largest city in the country...Houston, Texas baby!
@Roadlesstaken@xanga - lol
...according to Patty Stangren, the matchmaker of the TV show "Millionaire Matchmaker," Breckenridge, Colorado is the place to go...11 males to 1 female...I know that's where I'm headed! XD
@joycemiles@xanga - I'm not sure if there's any truth to that, but it certainly seems like it - agreed.
damn so how am I single...
Ok, how am I still single when I am currently living in NYC...
don't go to cali, it sucks out here...i'm totally moving back east when i graduate.
I'm moving to Florida.
Looks like I need to move to the west coast.
It's a combination of many thing actually I think. Around where I at single males far out way single females. If they aren't taken either their standers are too high, they don't want a relationships right now (or whatever excuse they use), or like some cases; they are just a psycho chick.
Good to know
shoot. i must be doing something wrong.. lol
Me too I will move to the West coast.
