Slang Term of the Moment: Revirginity
A female friend of mine made me laugh with a term that she came up with: Revirginity. Just by the title, you might already know what it means. It's when you are not a virgin, but you haven't had any of the real thing in so long that you start to feel or look more like a virgin, whether you are the masturbating type or took an (in)voluntary vow of celibacy. How many of you guys are either familiar with this term or have had this happen to them?

I'm not familiar with the term at all. I get what your friend was getting at though. That term is way better than "born again virgin." Ack.

wow. I've actually never heard of that before. Kinda... weird.
I've heard about it in One Tree Hill. But I don't agree with it. If you lost your virginity, how can you be a virgin still?

I don't like terms like that. Either you're a virgin or you're not. You can't take it back no matter what word you use.

i've heard of it! my best friend hasn't had sex in a year, and she says she "feels like a virgin again" since she knows it will hurt her..

@a_single_raindrop@xanga - You got to call the act of never having sex in so long something. And celibacy doesn't count, since the point of the term is that you actually want it, but probably can't get it.
@mynameisblueskye@xanga - That's true, but I don't think people should use the word 'virgin'. *shrugs*
I think this "Revirgin" term is very helpful.
It was so much easier to say "I'm a virgin" rather than "I'm waiting till I'm married to have sex." Now when that little plan of mine didn't work out, I had to switch the the mouthful of "I've only had sex with one person." Then for a while, I had to settle with saying "I don't have a lot of sexual experience..." (translation: under 5 partners).
Now that I've re-made up my mind to wait for marriage I can just say "I'm a revirgin"
