Is Gay Marriage Legal Where You Live?
Ever forget which states have allowed gay marriage thus far? Check out Can I Marry Gay for an easy interface, stick figures and updates of states' stances on the issue.
In my home state, Ohio, same sex marriage is a no-go. I currently work in New York (which doesn't allow it but does recognize it if it was performed in another state) and live in New Jersey (where you can get a civil union).
Has gay marriage been legalized in your state? If you're not in the US, is it legal in your country?

No, it isn't legal in Florida in any way, and it never will be, I'm sure.
I live in Virginia, and I'm pretty darn sure gay marriage isn't legal here. I don't care, since I'm straight.
@Dare2BDiferentt@xanga - guess it's the same for me since I live in the same state... and I'm straight too
No, I wish.
I live in Virginia, too, and it is unfortunately illegal. I haven't really been keeping track on the status of civil unions here, but a few years ago they were even trying to ban those.
UGH VIRGINIA COME ON.
I live in CA, and it's a very controversial topic in this state. It's not legal.
Nope. I live in Florida and we have a bunch of old back-in-the-good-days type here.
Phooey.
@Dare2BDiferentt@xanga - hey, I didn't realize there were so many Virginians here (makes me sad I left xanga *sniffs*).
Guess I'll agree with you on both counts, too.
it is legal in massachusetts !
we were the first state wooo
even though i'm straight i still support it :)
@Dave (not the vane guy) - Dude, you should come back. I have a bunch of friends with Xanga who are from VA. Srsly.
Not legal in Delaware.
Apparently Supreme Court is ruling on Prop 8 this Thursday... they will probably uphold it, but I'm 98% positive that gay marriage will be legal in CA within the next two-three years.
It just became legal in Maine, but there is still a chance for a people's veto. So if enough people sign a petition, it will go to a vote next November.
not legal in TX..yet!!
i live in iowa..
its legal as fuckkk here.
i live in canada.
it's legal, and people all over the world come here to get married XD
I live in Indonesia and gay marriages isn't legal here. Eventhough we have quiet a few gay couples but there's still lots of debates about same sex marriages.
I live in Omaha, NE. So... it really doesn't matter if it was legal in our city because we have Iowa right next door. Just go across the bridge and get your gay marriage on lol.
It's legal here (in Canada).
here in california they keep flip floping on the issue. but gay civil union is here and it affords much of the same state rights but it is not a marriage. the people have spoken twice on the issue with their vote. it is a sad thing. i feel it should be ok.
It's not legal in California, but it probably will be within the next couple of years. I welcome it with open arms, not just because of the emotional uplift it would give to the community in CA, but because this state is in deep fiscal doo-doo.
Allowing gays to get married and start families would mean that they can be taxed like the rest of us and besides since many gay couples don't have children, they have more disposable income that they can freely spend.
@ordinary_gir1@xanga - ahah yeah, i live in Canada too xP
Not in Texas. And probably won't be for a long time.
Iowa. Legal.
first in the nation baby! Mass!
