  • Yesss, ED Commercials May Be Banned

    via NY Daily News:

Two Democratic congressmen, James Moran of Virginia and Robert Brady of Pennsylvania, have introduced legislation that would prohibit broadcast television or radio from carrying ads for erectile dysfunction products before 10 p.m.

Moran, who introduced and then withdrew a similar resolution in 2005, tells CNN that too many TV viewers who see "Viva Viagra" or Cialis ads during daytime sporting events are tired of having a 4-year-old grandchild ask what erectile dysfunction is.

This would be BEYOND WONDERFUL. I've had more uncomfortable moments based on those stupid commercials...the whistled song for Cialis is catchy and I've caught the 8-year-old I babysit whistling it long after the commercial's over. She hasn't asked me flat-out what erectile dysfunction is, but if you asked her if she recognized the words Viagra and Cialis, I'm sure she'd say yes.

It's also always weird sitting at home with your dad and having Viagra ads blasted in front of both of you. I would loooooooove for these to be blocked until 10 p.m.

It also has to be uncomfortable for anyone who's actually on the drug, right? I don't think there's any brand pride there for regular Viagra users. "HEY! I TAKE THAT!"

Have you been caught in an awkward moment when these commercials have been on TV? Who were you with and what happened?
