Miss OstrichLast week, I asked my boyfriend if he'd like me to come home from school to see him for the weekend. He said, "Sure, but I really have to get started on the garden in the backyard." His mother's been talking about having a garden for years, and that weekend, it was finally time to break ground and get started. I, not wanting to pass up a chance to see him take off his shirt, elected myself to help him outside.
As we got ready to go outside, I started getting skeptic. Allergies? Digging around in dirt? Sweating and burning in ninety degree heat? What was I getting myself into? I wasn't about to go back on my word, but I was preparing myself not to enjoy it.
I had no idea how hot (pun intended) yard work could be!
Right from the start, I knew I'd enjoy myself. He had to push around a rotor-tiller (a giant lawn-moweresque machine with blades made to rip up earth), and man, was he flexing. Eventually the shirt did come off, and well, it made the whole activity worth the heat. The ogling wasn't all on my end. Afterwards, he said he liked watching me sifting around in the dirt, lifting and throwing big rocks, getting sweaty and dirty, ect.
Other than the whole scenario being a strange turn-on, it was fun just to be outdoors and working with him. I felt involved and connected to him as we worked towards a common goal and made it there together. I hope we do it more often in the future as a nice couple activity again.
Do you have any out-of-the-ordinary activities you like to do with your SO? What are some other ideas that can work as unexpected couple activities?

Two words: Killing zombies.
@QuantumStorm@xanga - I concur.
sounds fun!
Not really activities...but I do have an outdoor idea. Although it's common. Walks in the park do it for us
@QuantumStorm@xanga - Win. This will be the best reply on here, no doubt about it.
@QuantumStorm@xanga - definitely!! lollll
before we had a daughter, i guess the most "unusual" thing my husband and i did together was get some cigars (or our pipes) and take a walk in the park. we still take walks, but now it's with more kid-friendly ice cream instead.
one thing that's always stuck out to me about our relationship, though, is how much we enjoy just doing ordinary things together- giving our daughter a bath, making pizza, even going grocery shopping or doing the laundry all turn into fun couple activities because we just love spending time together. mmm....gardening DOES sound fun, though. i may have to suggest that this weekend...
:)
Caving! Or spelunking as it's called. I just went with him and two of our friends for the first time last weekend. We got disgustingly muddy from crawling through tunnels and chimney-climbing up walls... I mean we're talking head to toe covered in mud. But it was amazing! He kept telling me I looked cute with my helmet on (...yeah right) and he sure looked good climbing up and down all those walls and overhangs.
Plus... after we get out of the cave, we're all so muddy that we have to strip down to our underclothes. I'd say it's a pretty enjoyable event all around :)
I'm in kind of the same situation as you, where I come home from school occasionally on weekends to see him... I'm going back this weekend so we can go caving (or maybe kayaking!) again. It's so much fun - we're both really excited!
Cleaning his car bc he's too darn lazy to do it by himself. Not something I look forward to but mission accomplish at the end of the day.
hrrrm, we clean his house sometimes, do the laundry xP nothing out of the ordinary ?
We built an igloo together this winter. It was adorable. :)
Can't comment on the SO bit, but I definitely love it when guys get all dirty and sweaty (my ex and I both worked at a steel mill one summer, it was hot in both senses of the word!) Also the taking off of the shirt is awesome. Lol. The downside would be the major stank that some guys have when doing work like that.
I love it when a guy works on a car. I think it's so hot when a man knows his way under a hood. Even watching him change a tire is a huge turn on to me.
My boyfriend and I started playing Nerts together. :) Because we have a long-distance relationship, we're into playing computer games together which takes our mind off how far apart we are.
i would like to race car with him^^
aw that's cool. I usually clean his room for him because he's so messy >;[ lol. and i make him do his laundry. does that count?
Just watching him work on his car. I think it was the care and effort he put into it (he and his friends are HUGE on cars), plus seeing him doing something that I wasn't too knowledgeable about really made me watch and get deeper into it.
When you see your SO doing something he loves or really wants to put effort into, it really makes it seem more intimate. And if he's really devoted and happy while hes doing it, it makes him look cute. <3
@Super___Connected@xanga - so cute.
Strange... but now I'm all hot and bothered.
Hot~~
We cleaned out and washed his car once.....it was just hot watching him get all cleanish on his car....hmmm. I think i am going to suggest a cleaning mission on my car....lol.
Sing at the top of our lungs.
@be__quiet@xanga - That's definitely a good one, spelunking. My boyfriend came along on a couple geocaches with me and my dad, and there's definitely bonding involved when you're both working together to hold Dad's rope so he doesn't fall off the abandoned railroad bridge while climbing down the side...
I help him do his chores. Haha, he said it's hot that I don't mind touching his dirty laundry.
Cleaning things with my ex was always funny, or organizing stuff in our rooms. The funniest thing was always cooking. I think because he sucked at all of the above, and I was trying to show him the right ways, ha.
