The Secret on How to Marry Mr. Right
As you've probably already discovered, you don't just marry "the right man" and live happily ever after. Because……you've probably discovered that "Mr. Right" is not a person, but an attitude. Because…
…when you get married, you have to turn your guy into Mr. Right. Not by trying to change him for the better, but by doing the right things for him and for you every moment of every day. Or…
…you turn your husband into Mr. Okay by accepting him, but criticizing his faults and wondering how life would be different if you hadn't married him; wondering if there was someone better you could have chosen. Or…
…you turn your husband into Mr. Wrong by criticizing his faults, trying to change him into the guy you wish he would be, and becoming more and more bitter each time he prevents you from doing something you long to do.
How do you know he's the right one to marry? she asked me. And that is my answer.

This is really good advice. I'm glad this was posted :]
That's absolutely right. If you have to change them, they aren't your Mr. or Miss Right.
:)
Great post, great advice! I'll try to keep this in mind :)
simply put...its nOthing that we dOn't already knOw in out GREAT POST!!!
nice one:)
word
If he/she is this way, they are gonna by the same after they get marry, and trying to change a person doesn't work. That person need to change him/her-self, but you cannot change him/her.
Totally...if you have to change him than he's not right.
Most of the time, I've noticed, when people enter marriages thinking, "Oh.. I'll change him/her. That won't be a problem." -- The marriage typically fails. Not always, but pretty frequently.
If you're going to marry someone, you've got to love them enough to accept their faults. You've got to be able to handle their flaws. If you can't, it doesn't necessarily mean you two don't love each other, but it does mean that you shouldn't get married.
In the beginning stages of relationships, there's all sorts of patience. Their faults and flaws are adorable, everything they do is the equivalent of gold from Mars. Over time, the patience can wear with a lot of people, which leads to disaster. Sad fact. Good post.
Oh I love this!!!!!!!!
Oooo! I like this. Its the old saying that no one is perfect, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy your partners flaws, either.
never thought of it that way. :)
*Ding ding ding!*
Wake up call!
I like this!
Epic.
I know there is virtually never such a thing as "absolutely perfect". If there was, I'd feel awefully bad for him for marrying someone as flawed as me. :)
Anything worth doing is worth working on as well.
this really put things into perspective for me..
So so true.
Here's the thing, in any relationship you have to accept the other person "as-is". They are not clothes and do not come with alterations. You have to accept this person as they have accepted you - faults and all.
You just have to learn what you will and won't tolerate - your dealbreakers. If he leaves the toilet seat up and/or forgets to put the cap back on the toothpaste, those are very small things and not dealbreakers. You just have to make some concessions (look before you sit and do not share toothpaste). But if he is cheating on you with your friends, bringing chicks home for sex in your bed and/or stealing money from you, (I don't care how good the sex is) then those are things no one should put up with - dealbreakers HELLO!
You just have to decide whether or not your beloved is someone you could be happy with waking up when you are both in your 80's - old wrinkly and incontinent. If you could still see yourself with him when he is all liverspotted, rocking the old guy smell, toothless, wearing Depends, crotchetty as all hell and bald as a cue ball, then guess what - you have found your Mr. Right. Go ahead and walk down that aisle.
