Plentyoffish Is The #1 Dating Site In The US
From PRNewswire:Plentyoffish.com is now the official #1 online dating site in both theUSA and the UK according to Hitwise and is quickly gaining the reputation for being the site where people meet their true love...."The notion that people have to pay a dating site big money to meet somebody is outdated." Says Markus Frind, the site's founder, "the truth of the matter is that POF.com offers people the chance to meet and interact with over ten million singles without having to add more to their credit card debt. When our members meet someone on the site, they still have some money for the actual date. That can be a pretty big challenge in this economy."
Huh. I didn't know POF was the top site (or that a million people logged on every day, according to the source)! I guess it makes sense, though - crappy economy aside, I'd rather not pay to look for or find a significant other.
Are you or your friends on POF? Would you pay for an online dating site if it meant a better selection of guys or girls?

I'm not on it, because I have a boyfriend, and am kinda not 100% okay with meeting people online anymore, due to bad past experiences.
i've never evn heard of it!
Never heard of it & wouldn't even try it.
hjk oops
Lol, I've only heard of this site by reading Datingish posts. I wouldn't try it.
5-7 of my friends use that site. its amazing, so have i heard.
I wouldn't pay for anything I know next to nothing about. Haha. I'll stick to good ol' fashioned face-to-face dating until I'm truly out of options.
I think I have better things to worry about than finding a soulmate at the moment. Everything will fall in to place eventually.
i would try it for the sole purpose of meeting new people. it seems that meeting new people gets harder the older you get.
I've never heard of it. I'm content in my complicated relationship for now though.
I wouldn't pay to join sites. myspace has hundreds of millions of members and it is free. most are looking for friends but friendships can blossom and possibly turn into more.
My mom has been using POF for almost 2 years, I think.
She just married a guy that she met on the site in February, but I don't think it's working out. She's already talking about getting an annulment. So, I'm going to pass on recommending it. Just about every guy she has met turned out to be a douchebag, but that seems to be her luck.
I got lucky:) I love my boyfriend and I met him on POF. He treats me with respect and is always supporting me. Its been 1 year and 2 months, and already talking about getting married. I liked pof because it was free and you could actually read and send messages with out having to pay.
Plenty Offish?
I used to have a profile on there, this was before the economy got bad. I'm surprised to hear this though.
I'm there, looking for friends. I have run into a few racists there, a bully I went to school with, and an old friend whom I lost touch with, so I'd say it's a pretty successful site
Wow, I have never heard of that website.
I've heard of it, and I'm bugged that Datingish keeps posting references to it captializing only the P and not also the F. It's PlentyofFish.com. All lowercase is OK (particular since POF has logos like that) but it looks like Plenty Offish when you don't cap the F, as someone above notices -- and it's not offish at all =P
