So.. there are lots of definitions of love. Here's mine:
Love is not a feeling you have for the one that just happens to be there, or something easy. It's not an emotion you get when you agree with everything they say, or just something you feel when they're being nice and you're close to them
It's uncontrollable. Love doesn't care what's easiest, it doesn't care if it would be better for you both if it wasn't there. Love exists even when everything has ended and all there is left is memories of when you were both in love. Love never ends even when you wish it would.
It's true, I'm just a teenager, and I probably don't know what I'm talking about. But that's what I think love is after my experience with it. True love never goes away.
What's your definition of love?

I don't have a definite definition of love. I think everyone feels different when they're in love.
I think the best part about it is that you can't define it, but you can feel it.
@sweetNsour_dreamer@xanga - 100% agreed :)
Love is when you learn how to sacrifice for the well being of your loved one. It's when you would do anything, crazy, wild, or sweet for your special someone... when they claim to have extremely strong feelings for you & prove it by the things they do for you.
I don't have one, in all honesty. Too hard to pinpoint it exactly. Maybe all your life, love is always to be learned.
Love is a choice.
@bella_esperanza@xanga - I figured with only a few comments that I would be the first to say that but 't'was you.
So to reiterate the bold 4 word sentence once more. Love is a choice.
Love is a contradiction. It's everything and nothing at the same time. It's pain, sorrow, happiness. It's blinding and ignorant, it's knowledge and truth. Haha, my mind ran out of nouns and adjectives. You know what I mean. It's what happens when someone imperfect is completely and utterly flawless, etc... Eep, so mushy. Haha. Three cheers for love =].
I do not believe in the term love really. It is just a chemical addiction in the brain. I believe in symbiotic relationships in where both parties greatly benefit from each other. Well then again I am a bit of a cynic on this topic now and I am still rather young.
I think one of the great things about love is you can't put it into words, it's different for everyone
@bella_esperanza@xanga - Werd. This girl wins @ life.
Love is not an emotion. Emotions are created by chemicals in are bodies to feel a certain way under certain circumstances.
Love is a conscious decision made by one person to another.
Love is a many splendid things. Love lifts us up where we belong. All you need is love!
@INxEXISTENCE@xanga - So. Maybe "love" is caused by a chemical production in the brain; however, that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. That would be like saying life didn't exist. It exists.
I believe though, that love is when one forgets the self. I would not say love is always a choice. We may love without choosing to do so - I'm not talking infatuation here. Love is a true caring for someone over oneself and one's feelings. Love does not feel envy or pride. Love for someone else is what's left when you take away yourself. Caring about him/her/whateverGodis past that. It's there behind everything else.
(feel free to disagree ... i'm not so sure of that definition myself)
I actually wrote a whole post about this awhile ago. click here
"You know you're in love when you feel like the one you're with was made for you by God himself. They're designed to be your other half and you question everything in your life that has ever happened up until the point you met them and everything in your life changes."
"It's uncontrollable. Love doesn't care what's easiest, it doesn't care
if it would be better for you both if it wasn't there. Love exists even
when everything has ended and all there is left is memories of when you
were both in love. Love never ends even when you wish it would."
That actually sounds like lust or infatuation to me.
umm...love feels surreal...like I'm a pseudo-druggie high on love. in order to get that feeling, I guess, one would have to be an eternal optimist and believe that love is forever. love can be described in countless ways so I'm not going to disagree or agree with others. to each their own<3
Love is a choice.

I think teenage love is what most people think of when they think of the word "love". Lust, passion, romance, awkwardness and cuteness. I think people spend their whole lives chasing that new feeling they got when they were teenagers.
Mine? Simply put, it is an unconditional acceptance.
@bella_esperanza@xanga - Love is so not a choice. You can choose not to love and avoid it but you can find it without choosing to seek it out. So it's a choice in the sense that not seeing the sun is a choice. It's there and the only thing preventing you from seeing it are your closed eyelids.
Love is when you care about someone else more than yourself without even thinking about it.
that's definitely true. Even when it hurts so much you can't stand it, you can't stop loving them. There is no choice
I like your definition of love. I definitely agree with it too, after what I've been through lately.
Love is a woman on the porch holding a six pack of beer and wearing nothing but a smile.
I dont think love can have a definition because to be honest, it can be whatever you want it to be.
