A guy came to fix our DTV (which had only been installed a couple days and was already messed up) and he seemed pleasant. At first. He made small talk, tested our equipment, then fixed everything.
Awesome customer service, I thought.
Then he started hitting on me and got a bit aggressive! Um... wtf.
Maybe he is only trying to sell me stuff, like upgrading to HD, I thought. I answered his question by explaining that only my parents lived in the house and 5 channels of Vietnamese do not justify an HD receiver and the additional cost each month (their words, not mine.)
TV Guy: You don't live here?
Me: No, I have a place in Philly.
TV Guy: You're not in high school?
Me: Um...no. (with a look of disgust on my face)
WAIT.
He hit on me even though he thought I was in high school?! So I got him out of the house ASAP. As he went to shake my hand, he gave me his left hand (?!), and that was when I noticed the gold wedding band!

Why do guys do that? Guys - have you ever done that? Girls - has this ever happened to you?
Or is it just me who happen to draw in these creeps/losers?

Hahah, I've been hit on by married guys before. I don't think the guy was seriously trying to pursue me, though.
i don't understand what was the meaning of the whole scene...
can you explain it on my blog:)i'm not local americanThats horrid...what a prick. In more ways than one!
Wow... that was just weird. I guess some guys don't really care much about the expectations set for them by society. That's why unfaithfulness is common in marriages (at least more common than I think it should be) and why guys like that will hit on high schoolers.
I attract them too :( The "Oh you're not in high school" line's been dropped on me... As well as "How old are you, 11? 12?" and "So what are you, fifteen?" I'm twenty two and I'm graduating uni in December :/
I guess some people think this is some sort of pickup line... It's so creepy. Why are you hitting on somebody you think is WAY underage??
I guess both do it to see if they can actually get the other to cave in and get digits. It's to see how much game they have. I don't do it because I'm not a douche.
Lmao. Wow, that's ... really something.
It hasn't happened to me, and hopefully never.
i've been hit on by married women.
ewww thats gross =.=
but it does happen a lot tho
that didnt really happen to me, but one time, i was at the train station to visit bf and this old man kept staring at me especially everytime i moved >< he kept looking at my legs. he was doing this sudoku book and frequently glancing over
also on the same day, i got whistled at and chatted up on the way home
bad experience at train station
too many creeps!
It really doesn't sound to me like he was hitting on you. Remember he was making small talk with you as part of customer service, he can't bring up adding HD to your line without trying to soften you up. He gets commission when he gets you to sign up for more services.
Plus maybe you look younger than your age, which is a very good thing and you can take it as a compliment. :)
Ok, so maybe he was just really awkwardly checking to make sure you weren't underage? (Maybe that's just me thinking positively) Also, just because he was wearing a ring doesn't necessarily mean he was married. There's all kinds of possible circumstances (going through a divorce, separation, maybe his wife died, etc.)
However, I must also state, that even though I can see why you think it's weird or wrong, I personally don't see what's wrong with a married person seeking some fun on the side, especially if their marriage isn't that great. I watch porn and get off to porn when my wife isn't around - how is that different from having an affair, as long as both parties know it's nsa? More importantly how does it hurt the marriage? I don't think it does.
Anyway, don't get mad at me, because as far I'm concerned this is still all theoretical - not to say that I wouldn't have an affair - but I haven't yet.
i think i would report him to his company. remember it is your preception of what he was doing and if you preceve it then someone else may too and he needs to be talked to about his approach.
i have known men and women to put on an act to show their company that they were married as many companies see that as being stable, when in fact they were not married.
but i still would report your feelings to his company. he made you feel uncomfortable and that is not good customer service.
are you sure he was hitting on you?
maybe he tried to shake your hand with the left hand just so that you'd see the ring
yuck! Creepy McCreepers
disgusting.
You need to call Chris Hansen to stake out your house.
Argh! That happens to me all the time. It so creepy that they assume that you're underage and hit on you anyway isn't it?! You know he has control issues when a grown married man purposely goes after a female he thinks is a teenager. It's like dirty old men are increasing in numbers. You should call DTV and report him asap.
Never had a married man hit on me but I did had a hot cable guy who came to install my cable for me.
@Trigger821@xanga - She said he was and that it was aggressive. I think she left exactly what he said out because this is a public website and it was most likely not PG.
Sadly this is common with "cable guys"...because they think flirting with you will make you spend more money.
That's just nasty. Just as he's about to walk on of the door, I would have punched him in the pants. Now that would have been mad funny.
How very ungentleman like.Â
Haha, that's happened to me before. I'm 21 and people always mistake me for 16-17.
don't flatter yourself hon, i don't think he was hitting on you. and btw, i'm 22 and wish people thought i was in hs still =(
