To have sex with someone is different than making love to him or her, and making love to someone is completely different from f***ing him or her.
You would f*** someone that you cared nothing about. A one night stand. A prostitute. A drunken hookup at a college party. F***ing can never be passionate, it can never be loving and should never mean anything.
My boyfriend once told me that he would never "f***" me," but he would "make love to me," and that's what got me to realize the difference between the terms. Why would I want my boyfriend to f*** me? That is such an unromantic term.
I also feel like "having sex" sounds like a chore. Like, "we have to reproduce, so we have to have sex". Or someone who really isn't attracted to a SO that he/she still cares about would have sex with that person. Animals have sex - except for dolphins, animals only have sex for the purpose of reproducing. A chore.
Does anyone else agree with me?

lol. for reals
I agree with the f******. I'd never use that term for my boyfriend and would hope he'd never use it for me.
Never thought about "having sex" that way before but now I think about it you're quite right it does sound like a chore.
Making love is the best way to put it if you love the person of course.
there is a difference between f**king and making love, but it all depends on your personality too. when i'm 'making love' to my girlfriend, we are very passionate, but sometimes she just wants me to, as she puts it, ''f**k the sh*t out of her". just because she says that doesn't make it meaningless, or mean that i don't care about her. f**king isn't necessarily something you do with someone you don't care about, because i care a lot about my girl, but sometimes we f**k and its fun. sex doesn't always have to be a passionat love making, or a chore, it should be fun too.
and your boyfriend telling you that he'd never f**k you, only make love to you, was just a line. when he's with his friends, he probably tells them about how hard he f**ked you last night, or starts a story out by saying ''so i was f**king the shit out of her and...". trust me, guys minds are way different, don't let him fool you.
lol no i don't agree at all. this is so silly. sorry.
i disagree with that. f-ing is hot and passionate and of course, fun. it is certainly is not meaningless.
i wish i was having sex :(
No. Does sex always have to be romantic? I'm pretty sure the first time I have sex, I want it to be more like making love than fucking, but god, no way would I want every session to be candles and rose petals. People have animalistic desires sometimes, too, and it's fine to share them with an SO.
"So do you have sex with your boyfriend?"
"No, we make love."
Hmm, generally I agree with you. But as @C_UNIT42@xanga said above it depends on personality.
My ex used to sometimes say "I want you to F*** me right now". Which meant she wanted it right then, and she wanted it passionate, wild and furious. Other times she'd want me to "make love" to her, meaning she wanted more foreplay, slower pace, more cuddling, kissing, gentle, etc. It was always full of passion whether we were F***ing or making love.
I agree with "having sex", that's a term for animals or couples that have been married for a long time.
You can fuck your boyfriend too. Sometimes sex is just sex with nothing behind it - even in a loving relationship.
You are dead wrong.
Call it fucking, making love, or having sex, they are all synonyms meaning the same thing. By your logic poster, do you mean to say that everybody who cheats on another person is simply fucking another person or are they making love to another person?
Imagine if your boyfriend fucked/made love/had sex with another woman. Normally, you would be offended if somebody cheated on you, and you can't nor wouldn't simply write it off as "oh, they're just fucking, not making love", as it's really bullshit when analyzed. Don't be naive when it comes to something like sex.
"Making love" is definately the most appealing, but I think "having sex" isn't that bad. I never really thought of it as a chore when said that way, but I do see where you're coming from. And f-ing, depending on the circumstances, doesn't have to be meaningless and un-romantic. when that term is used, I just picture more energy. Haha...
They are all the same thing. Your frame of mind is what changes. I wouldnt' have been comfortable calling what I've done "making love", but I was certianly not having a one night stand, and it did NOT feel like a chore. It was with someone I cared about, who cared about me. Making love is something that happens in soap operas. I would laugh if someone asked me to "make love"
Hm.
Never thought of it that way.
Well, there is such a thing as maintenance sex where both parties may not necessarily want to do it, but do it, anyway, for the sake of the relationship. It's required in many marriages to keep the spark alive.
Umm... I disagree. I've only ever had sex with people I love, but I love to be F**KED! What's wrong with a little enthusiasm in the bedroom? Does that mean it's not romantic? NOT AT ALL! We'll often whisper an "i love you" amid X-Rated sex talk while f**king like ravenous animals. There's nothing wrong with that.
Nope. Call it what you will: "Making Love, Having Sex, F***ing = it's the same thing. A quickie is a quickie ; sometimes you just want to let your animal side out.
Don't get me wrong...there's romantic making love too...but in the end, it's really all the same. : )
I just wrote a huge rant on the F-word. I agree completely.
and I don't know why, but the mop photo seems perfect for this post.
Having sex makes it sound less romanticized, in my opinion. Sounds like it could've been meaningless. I refer to sex with my boyfriend as 'making love', because that's what it feels like we are doing <3
F*cking is the term I use to describe hot and ready for sex. Even if someone loves you they would still say the F word. It just depends on the guy and the words he chooses.
I think making love sounds a tad bit lame. Like an old married couple type thing. :/ It doesnt really matter what you call it to me, it just kind of matters who it's with.
to be honest using the term "making love" always turns me off......
I guess if I was in a serious relationship then of course id want my man to make love to me but like a lot of people have commented before me. fucking is fun :)
I mean we are all human and we are all lustful...
having funn crazy wild kinky sex is just as import. to have with your SO as having passionate sensual love making.
My mom loves to say Making Love instead of F***ing. -.-
"Let's make loveeee..." Just don't work (for me). Kind of a bit "turn off" if you ask me. But "Let's fcuk" makes my hormones jump up and down. It's just something about that word that makes me go crazy.
This "making love" vs whatever else is silly talk.
I always thought "making love" was kind of stupid, how exactly does one make love through sex? Am I to assume that I could make someone love me by sexing them up? If you're making love, isn't it safe to assume you love each other beforehand (since it's so "romantic"), making "love making" redundant and obsolete, therefore having sex?
Wut....
I have to disagree here.
The word "fuck" has a lot stronger of a connotation than any of the other words mention. There's emotion and feeling behind that word. "Fuck" is very aggressive word that alludes to animalistic behavior, and really the root of our sexual behavior is animalistic. A word that agressive is a huge turn on for people as well. It gets things going. I'd rather "fuck" my boyfriend that have sex wit him. Fucking someone sounds fun and enjoyable.
"Having sex" sounds too boring. You can have sex with anyone, and this phrase makes it sound like the sex that you're having isn't great. At least with the word "fuck" you're getting some pleasure out of it.
"Making love" always seemed to cheesy for me. *gag*. And if you have to have sex to create love, you're having sex for the wrong reasons.
