Bjork - Like Someone In Love
Robert Palmer - Addicted to Love
The Doors - Love Her Madly
Cream - Sunshine Of Your Love
Beatles - All You Need is Love

Queen - Crazy Little Thing Called Love
Ani DiFranco - Falling Is Like This
Pearl Jam - Wishlist

can we go back to the depressive love songs haha im not ready for these
But I really enjoyed the dancing in the Love Affair video. It should not be ignored. :)
I love The Doors (and Cream, The Beatles, PJ).
I Looked At You, You Make Me Real, Love Street, and Wintertime Love are also great positive love songs by The Doors (and their rendition of Gloria is amaaaazing, haha).
you are the one; shiny toy guns.
come what may; moulin rouge
yay for happy love songs, finally
You can't go wrong with The Beatles...usually. [: <3
I think I'm In Love With A Girl by Big Star should be on there. Clearly people must like them, since Elliott Smiths' cover of Thirteen is on the list.
@Sgt_Pepper13@xanga - Hm, I've only heard the White Stripes version of that song. And I don't know anything about the song Thirteen other than it's a cover. By whom, I'm not sure. But I definitely like the way Elliott Smith does it.
@steph - Big Star is a great band. They're one of the early power pop bands, along with Badfinger. Alex Chilton, the lead singer was in another group before Big Star, The Box Tops. You might have heard Cry Like A Baby or The Letter on an oldies station. If you watched the first season of That 70s Show you've heard Big Star, since the first season used In The Street as the theme song. Later seasons used a cover version of the song done by another power pop group, Cheap Trick.
Edit: You're thinking of Fell In Love With A Girl by The White Stripes, completely different from the similarly titled Big Star song.
Cream always makes me feel bubbly inside. Finding a positive love song from Pearl Jam is quite the feat. ha.
@alice_tiny@xanga - Haha, I know! My boyfriend sent it to me once, and it definitely qualifies as a positive love song :)
@Sgt_Pepper13@xanga - Ohh, okay. My bad. Thanks for the info :)
A Beautiful Mess by Jason Mraz seems like a positive love song to me. I was also just listening to Kelly Clarkson - You Found Me.
Both are pretty good songs to me :)
Cool love the Doors, and Beatles..
What about these???
JoAnna - Kool and The Gang
Forever - Kiss
I don't know just a thought!!
Bjork is a nice choice for love songs, but the things about hers is how introspective it is, rather than it being a complete dedication.
Goo Goo Dolls :)
"Check Yes Juliet" by We The Kings, "Melt With You", (cover) by Bowling for Soup, "To Be With You" (cover) by Allister.
Punk music rocks! :D
I like The Zombies "Time of the Season" song:) very funky song that makes me visualize skipping in the cornfields catching butterflies with those nets while high on drugs or something
I didn't know "Love Affair" was a positive love song. Interesting. All I remember is the, "mothers prefer doctors and lawyers," part. Hahah. I also think the Jason Mraz/Colbie Caillat duet is positive =]. Lalala.
I've got a ton, partially because I've been suggesting songs for a friend's wedding...
"Bridge Over Troubled Water" by Simon & Garfunkel, but the cover by Eva Cassidy is amazing, too
"How Can I Tell You" by Cat Stevens
"You and I Both" by Jason Mraz
"Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop" by Landon Pigg
"Stolen" by Dashboard
"Make Me Whole" and "Even If" by Amel Larrieux
"Greatest Story Ever Told" by Oliver James, "Carry This Picture for Luck" by Dashboard, and "More Than Anyone" by Gavin DeGraw also used to be my top faves.
=)
"Everything" By Michael Buble, and the cover of "Till There Was You" by the Beatles is really good too...
I LOVE HANDS DOWN BY DASHBOARD BTW, 2 THUMBS UP!
@sweetNsour_dreamer@xanga - The Good Charlotte one is also ironic.
