I've planned a couple of dates that fell through . . . but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing.
1. I saw that the local soccer team was in the playoffs, so I asked my then-GF if she wanted to go to the game. She politely turned me down, citing the two-hour drive from the stadium to her place after the game. She lived an hour away from me, and I lived an hour away from the stadium.) Nuts. I asked my brother if he wanted to go to the game. HECK YEAH!
We went, and it was a great game - great parking, and the home team won. Wooo! BUT...it was raining. It was cold. It was miserable. While it ended up being a great guys' night out, it would've been a terrible date night.
2. A few years later, same cute girl.
Driving through town, asking that classic question, "Whaddya wanna do?"
"I dunno, whadda YOU wanna do?" I thought about a Mexican restaurant I'd taken her to after a special occasion. Almost mentioned it. Didn't. Ended up going to the arcade, tossing a few dozen quarters into various video games and ticket machines. Then we finished off with a stop at Taco John's.
I asked her later, "Would you have liked to go to that Mexican restaurant?" She said, "yeah...I almost mentioned it."
That would've been so sweet.
EXCEPT..
I kid you not, the next day I'm checking the local news online, and I read "Roof Collapses at Local Restaurant". Yeah. That Mexican restaurant. (Just a small chunk, 6' x 3') Nobody was injured, but falling sheet rock and insulation would've really put a damper on our afternoon date.
Have you ever avoided a date-night disaster?

Hahaha, this is funny.
I haven't been on that many actual dates, so I think just by not having gone on x amount of dates, I've avoided disasters.
I pretended I was sick once. Only because I thought the guy was a creep and didn't want to hurt his feelings... I did anyway, hah.
I can't say that I have
I dont go on dates. lol.
But your stories were great lol
Wow, the love gods are watching your back! I was sorta save by my boss during my last date. It wasn't going exactly that well, so when my boss asked me if I wanted to come in to cover a shift I gladly said sure!
LOL. my boyfriend and i were due for our first-ever trip to the kansas city bbq restaurant here in san diego, where part of top gun was filmed, and we just wanted to go to try it out. but we didnt because he was really tired and lazy, so we just chilled at his house.
the next day, we hear that it got burned down -__-'
FAIL. almost. [:
haha! that's great. you got lucky :P
Gotta love those awesome coincidences. Sometimes things just work out for the best, I guess. The power of the "unseen hand," I guess.
wow that is deffinitely lucky! I don't think any bad disasterous date have happened to me o.O not yet at least
Wow.
You're lucky.
haha! That would have been funny!
Collapsing roofing in restaurants really isn't that uncommon! Where I used to work, a piece of roofing caved from a leak when it was raining and slammed down hard from water pressure. Anyone standing under that would have been crushed flat, but fortunately it happened when not many people were about.
wow..talk about pure luck =)
Not that I can think of. I WISH I had avoided some of my crappy dates.
Haha! Cool. Not so cool for the people at that restaurant though...
OMG ! Luck!
@Roadlesstaken@xanga - you darn welll know about bad dates though..
hahahaha..luckily for me, about ever guy has asked me out on a second one..hehe. loolll. all my dates go pretty well
@immaairheadxl@xanga - Haha well the last one. I need to find some more good date potential girls! Know any?
Crikey!
I'm actually kindof glad I didn't avoid my dating disasters.
They make for funny stories. :)
Plus they help you see how your date would react under different circumstances.
