via AOL:Determined to save her ring, he scaled the side of the bridge as motorists, thinking he was suicidal, begged him not to jump. A police suicide-prevention van pulled up.
"I just kept telling them, 'I need to get that ring. Thankfully, I wasn't anywhere near water when my fiance proposed but I would have said yes anyways and it would have been something to remember.
maybe it was all a poly so she couldn't say no in front of the millions of people now watching on the bridge ;)

That would actually make me leery of accepting, to be honest. That somebody would do something so risky for something so unimportant in the long run...not the best example of good judgment. Dedication is pretty pointless if you're dead.

Glad that ended well. It was more of a win, really... he retrieved the diamond AND got the girl. Like any good tale, there was a perilous fail before the final and epic win.
