Musical Mondays: Your Favorite (Slightly Meaner) Breakup Song
I'd rather cut to the chase than dwell on being depressed after a breakup. Maybe that's why "Song For The Dumped" is so appealing to me (warning: there's some not-so-nice language in this).

Not sure if this is a "breakup" song or more of a "I-hate-my-ex-he's-such-a-rotten-son-of-a-bitch" song, but I've always loved the lyrics to Alanis Morrisette's "You Oughta Know". I'll never forget the first time I saw it on MTV, late one night while channel surfing. It caught my eye because the closed-captions (I'm hearing-impaired so I use the captions all the time) were hot pink. As I read the words to the song, I thought to myself, "Damn...somewhere, there's a guy who used to date this woman, who's seeing this on MTV and, as a result, is now trying desperately to crawl under his couch cushions, saying over and over again, 'Oh shit...oh shit...'"
