I was talking to my unboyfriend last night, (well, for the sake of conversation, let's just say he is my boyfriend - that will make things easier). We were carrying on a conversation about
God knows what, and I began to get a little playful and used some corny pick up line you never actually hear. Then I used a winky smiley face,

, and he winked back. He noted how we were winking at each other, it was like we were flirting. Then he asked, "Are you trying to flirt with me?" Half serious, totally still joking around, but I was taken aback. Flirting? You flirt when you're trying to impress someone. You flirt when you're trying to get attention. How can you flirt with someone you already have?
"I guess I am," I replied, and the conversation continued in another direction.
We all flirt; I flirt quite shamelessly, in fact. I wouldn't consider it flirting, though, when you're already with the person. You've already won them over; you don't need to flirt anymore, but we continue to go through the same actions. What's it called then?
How often do you find yourself flirting with your significant other? Do you consider it
flirting, or does it have some other name?

yes you can flirt with the person you are dating!
"What's it called then?"
Foreplay? o_O
Of course you can flirt with your SO ... usually couples tease one another and giggle and such ... (:
Yeah I think you can flirt, but it's just in a different context.
It's still flirting - although some refer to it as playing
*licks lips* LOL
There are words that only apply when in a certain context (like student, child, etc...), but flirting is just...an action. I don't think it changes even when you're dating the person. That was an interesting question.
I flirt with my boyfriend all of the time and vice versa. Flirting doesn't change just because you start dating, or just because you get married. People in relationships can always flirt with each other. Actually, I think flirting gets funner with commitment. You know you won't get slapped in the face for saying something perverted. :B
@jeffgodofbiskuts@xanga - hahha, in some cases, yes.
But, for real, flirting with your SO lightens things up and is just another way of showing that you are still as into them as you were before dating.
"You've already won them over; you don't need to flirt anymore"
i respectfully, but totally disagree. love is an action; it requires work. flirting, playfulness, romantic gesstures, self-sacrivice, etc., should be a part of any solid relationship.
Im married and i still flirt with my husband, he flirts with me. just because your in a relationship/married doesnt mean that stops. actually i think its even cuter when people are together and they still flirt with each other.
All the time :3
I never really thought about it until this post came across, but yes, I'd consider it as flirting... makes it even cuter!!!! yeee
flirting adds spice!
Whenever I can, I flirt with my beau.
Nooo, absolutely its still flirting!! Its fun, its playful, and you're always trying to keep their interest, right? The purpose of flirting is to gain interest, AND to keep it, IMO. :)
there's something called "friend flirt" where u just first and play around with friends but it's NOTHING more that than.
my husband and i flirt all the time. i think it's necessary to a healthy relationship (or rather is one of the signs of one).
:)
flirting gets a lot more fun after you're in a relationship because who knows where it could lead?!
I flirt with my boyfriend all the time. It's fun, especially since you know the outcome will always be positive.
It's still flirting. And it's good to do with your boyfriend, you know? It shows that you still find them worthy of notice, and irresistable or some such. :) Me and my boyfriend still flirt like we always did. It makes things fun, and gives us a lighter spirit. You know? :)
And haha, what exactly do you mean when you say "unboyfriend?" Let me know. :)

it's still flirting, and yeah, it's fun. keeps things saucy.
Silly girl.. flirting is flirting. It's still called flirting if you are dating or married to that person.
I love flirting. I do it all the time with my boyfriend. We tease each other a lot.
yah its flirting! just bc youre already with him doesnt mean flirting is out of the question!
I consider it flirting still. I don't think I flirt with my husband that often. Or maybe I do but I just don't know it.
Hell yes its flirting!! My boyfriend and I flirt with each other on a daily basis
*sigh*
I think its wonderful that two people can show how silly in love they are with each other with a seductive glance, a wink or anything just as cute...
