Miss Ostrich Okay, so I promise this is the last post about my love for geeks and nerds, but I came across THE BEST website yesterday:
Geek to Geek gk2gk.com is a dating website tailored for helping geeky girls and boys find their love connections. The site proclaims, "Whether you're looking for romance or just friendship, this is the place to hook up. Geeks are special, and their interests don’t match the kinds of questions asked in other dating sites’ profiles. We have carefully designed our profile information by including information that is important to geeks and their admirers. Not only that, but you have the ability to pick the most important characteristics of a match so that your matches most closely reflect your specific interests."
Geek lovers everywhere rejoice! The site is free to join (if you're 18 years or older), and you can look through the pictures and profiles of the users already registered first in the quick search option at the top of the page. It's not letting me down; there are some good looking geeks in Brooklyn. I have a geek of my own, however, so I'll just be browsing.
If you could make your own super specific dating site, what would yours be like? Mine would be for baked good lovers who have an appreciation for late '90s pop and like thrift shopping. And I would call it...never mind, I have no idea.

Engineer triathletes :) For some reason I seem to attract engineering types, I guess cause I'm one myself.
Maybe I would call it enginathletes?
I have an unfortunate tendency to be very broad-ranging in my nerdiness. From philosophy and literature to science and math to gaming and computers to....well, you get the idea.
Even on a site developed for "my kind" I'm not sure how well I'd do with finding a good match.
@Nous_Apeiron@xanga - I share this person's doubts. Even if you have a perfect match in chemistry/preferences/whatever with somebody else, the relationship still has a chance to go to hell easily. I wouldn't bother with specific sites, but just try talking to people in general and see where the path goes.
@Eternal_Nocturne@xanga - Yeah....Or you could just go to graduate school. Anyone who loves their subject enough to study it for 5+ more years has got to be a geek (and chances are, they'll make good money, too!).
@LupusInvictus@xanga - Bad stereotype. On one end, most people go to grad school to be able to get a better job standing and hence the better money. It doesn't have to be all geeks in grad school, though I doubt you'll be finding the "fun times" people had as undergrads.
oldfashioned christians.
Men in Uniforms - I just love "men" in uniforms. It'll be great to browse through a website with men in uniforms. Too sexy.
@jeezshoua@xanga - This is close! http://www.uniformdating.com/
@MissOstrich - I like what I see.
Thank goodness I already have a man in uniform at home or I'll go crazy!
I <3 me some geeks.
No matter what I'd put, I'd want the opposite the next day.
Oh!
A website for bipolar people to find love!
"good lovers who have an appreciation for late '90s pop and like thrift shopping"
I'd be perfect for that site!!
