Ideal Boyfriend Versus Ideal Girlfriend
I love watching romantic comedies, and this is always when I am (again) hit with the fact that these guys and girls in there are just way too perfect. There can't possibly be one of those, right? 
Nevertheless, I have a thing for drawing up the perfect man. So, this is what I see in movies, and hope that the Ideal Boyfriend has.
1. We're eating at a restaurant and I get up (either to go to the bathroom or somewhere else). Ideal Boyfriend also stands up.
2. We're walking on the sidewalk and I fall flat on my face. Ideal Boyfriend also falls on the ground and laughs with me. (HA)
3. We're talking on the phone and I fall asleep. Ideal Boyfriend keeps the phone by his side and calls me first thing in the morning.
4. Ideal Boyfriend knows how to cook. Deliciously.
5. Ideal Boyfriend appreciates good feedback, like "that suit looks ridiculous, that purple shirt doesn't look good on you, and oh, that ring in your nose is kinda weird".And I always guffaw at the girls in the movie....So, if I were a guy, this would be my Ideal Girlfriend:
1. The boys and I are having a fun night out (or in) and girlfriend calls. I tell her I have the boys over and we're playing....poker? or watching a game. Preferably, if I were watching a game, Ideal Girlfriend would be over and watching with us. But, if that isn't the case, Ideal Girlfriend says, "Okay, have fun! I'll call you tomorrow."
2. I go through a lot to win a contest at work for coupons to some nice restaurant so Ideal Girlfriend and I can go together. The coupons give dinner free and Ideal Girlfriend doesn't mind that I didn't have the money to go there in the first place, and therefore, participated and smashed all contestants in the contest to get those coupons.
3. Ideal Girlfriend doesn't mind that I want to go on a road trip with the boys. Or camping.
4. Girls are looking in my direction and smiling up a storm. Ideal Girlfriend says "They know what's good when they see it."
5. I walk by a girl who's beautiful (or rather, sexy, I guess) and I try really hard to keep my eyes on the Ideal Girlfriend. No worries, Ideal Girlfriend smiles and says, "That deserves a treat."What qualities are on your Ideal BF/GF list?

ehh i don't like thinking about ideal gfs or bfs
it's unrealistic because we can't always get exactly what we want. people have flaws. instead of daydreaming about an 'ideal' one..we should learn to accept what we have present in front of us.
i tend to figure out whether or not a guy is idealistic after i go on a couple dates with him.
my ex bf was idealistic after i fall in love with him. because i couldn't ask for a better boyfriend. he was just right for me.
but before that...he was just another ordinary boy.
You know what?
I used to want to make one of these lists..and I think I did one day. But now that I'm with my boyfriend, none of these things even matter. It's like...once you find the right person, all of these formulated checklists that we have for our potential mates are thrown out the window, because all we want to be with is them.
It doesn't even matter what I wanted previously in a guy, because he's all I want now. Plus, if I did re-find my stupid list, I would just rip it up, because lists aren't real people..my SO is better than any list I can configure. =)

I used to have a list of what my ideal boyfriend would be like. I don't remember everything on that list but I do remember one thing.. I wanted him to be Taiwanese, but if not.. for sure, he could not be Korean. Well, as luck would have it, my current boyfriend is the exact opposite of that list. He's Korean & I have never been more in love. We've been together for over 2 years now & it's unbelievable. I'm glad I didn't stick to the "list" as it'd just limit me from something great. :)
@still_standing - Aww I'm so happy for you! =) It'll be a year for me this Sunday.
Someone needs to stop watching movies. Or never stop watching them. I'm not sure which would do those in reality better. Wtf? Seriously.
4 and 5 on the 'ideal girlfriend' list are great! I'll have to remember those ;)
The ideal bf/gf smashes all expectations and you find yourself falling in love with a person you never would have imagined yourself with.
That's my ideal romantic comedy for life.

hmmm i like daydreaming about scenes in movies, and i have an "ideal bf" list too.
btu dont you think these movies are actually ... very damaging? HAHA. because the more you watch movies, the more you'd expect your future bf to be like the character in the story (rich, handsome, tall, caring, charismatic .... etc etc). and in actual fact, we know that no one can be like that. we might wait forever, but the person is never gonna come.
life sucks. ... right?
The girl has to give amazing hugs.
One quality for Ideal Boyfriend:
Understands that you have some off days because you are visited by "AUNT FLO" for a week. Sometimes a joke can't be taken too lightly.He understands it and asks what you would like him to do. (Talk more, grab a bite, or just relax.. or just alone time to yourself)
One quality for Ideal GirlfriendUnderstands that sometimes a man has his own pleasures in life. By letting him indulge in his hobby, whether it be cars or football, you don't interrupt those moments. I mean would you like be interrupted in the middle of a chick flick with your gal pals?
I am not sure if this is ideal. I think it should be compromises that you have to put in the relationship. You should really look into the Steve Harvey book or watch the Oprah episode today. You might have a list of qualities.. but if a guy has a list of qualities... to match.. what are you willing to do and what will you sacrifice?
Some lady wanted to receive oral sex and not give in return. I mean sex shouldn't be the basis of the "ideal" relationship.. if that even exist.. but we're only human.. even the pure and humble will have their needs met.. down the line..A bit off on this subject but i suggest all the readers look at the book by Steve Harvey..

from the ideal bf list, my bf does 1 of 5
and from the ideal gf list, i do 2 of 5
if i fell i don't want my bf to fall with me and if hes going for coupon to take me out i don't want to be part of contest.
movies/drama series definitely not a good source to use when making a list for yourself because you would be single for a long time! :)
When you meet the right person, that list basically vanishes..

-i'm his first priority......
-i am more important than his games or football......
-cares fro me........
-hug me from behind.......
-pamper/spoil me.........
-understand me [my situation]....
-i don't mind if he sees other girls/mixed with them, as long as he is faithful/loyal.....

and just for my 2 cents, if i were to get up in a restaurant to go pee and my bf gets up, id be like "what on earth are you doing?" hahahahah :D same with the falling flat on his face next to me one... :D
yeah, i think theres always some ideal parts in Every girlfriend or boyfriend.
The only quality I truly want is to know he is always there for me no matter what, supporting, believing and loving me even when I'm unlovable. Always being kind no matter the situation.
I could draw up a huge list as well but there's no point really because no one person has all the qualities we want. We set ourselves up for disappointment if we do the list and then realize the person we are with has none of those qualities. Maybe they won't matter anymore because they have even better ones!
i don't really think either list is valid.
and for the most part, both are improbable.
ideal is relative, and clearly different for each person.
my ideal boyfriend would be good with money and would have good taste in books and films.
as an ideal girlfriend, i would know not to interrupt in the Boys' poker night, unless specifically invited.
I would also know that boys check girls out.
Just like girls check boys out.
it's natural and what happens.
it's not like either of us will jump at the chance to be with Other Girl/Boy... you're just looking.

No, seriously. I used to laugh when people told me this....but now I have found the most amazing man, who IS my "ideal boyfriend" that I've always dreamed of....except this time he's real, and it's absolutely incredible.
