Miss OstrichSpring break is having adverse effects on me. I don't own a TV at school, but now that I'm home, there are televisions in almost every room. There's no escaping them!
Mid-afternoon shows are the best. I was flipping through and found the crown jewel of terrible daytime television: Jerry Springer.
Today's topic was "I Have a Latin Lover"; the guests went on the show to tell their SOs about their lovers on the side. The SOs all came out smiling, kissing their man/woman, seeming not to suspect anything. You'd think that when Jerry Springer calls and says, "Your boyfriend/girlfriend/wife/husband wants to tell you something on national TV...on the Jerry Springer show," they'd be a little apprehensive.
Who would go along with that sort of thing? Anyone with an ounce of self respect should know not to get involved with Jerry Springer or any of those other horrible daytime talk shows (I guess that answers my question).
The typical show happened: girl tells boyfriend she's sleeping with his cousin, cousin comes out, fights boyfriend; another guest is sleeping with another man, tells his boyfriend, boyfriend and lover fight, someone happens to be a prostitute; the audience chants Jerry and someone flashes for beads; another one happens to be pregnant (who's the daddy? That's for another show), then Jerry wraps it all up with his thoughts at the end.
Next week's headline: "I'm Actually A Man".

I would never break up or reveal a big secret to someone on national television. Besides not wanting my personal life broadcast all over the nation, I'm under enough pressure as it is already than having an audience watching my every move and words that is coming from my mouth.
I wouldn't be dating the moron in the first place. Why would you want to be humiliated on public televison?

No I wouldn't do anything on tv. Its trashy and even if you're right, you come out looking like an idiot.
I find those shows disgusting. Actually most of them are just fake and those are actors. I don't think any normal person would go through that, it's just crazy!
It's like that show MOMENT OF TRUTH where people go there revealing secrets in front of their friends, family and SO's, FOR MONEY. That's sick. I mean it's entertaining for the audience because you can't believe someone would go to those heights for money and it makes your eyes glued to the tv, wondering how far the person will go. You have to be really messed up to agree to go on Jerry Springer or any of these shows!

I love the Springer show. TV at its best. I especially love the ones where people viewing at home feel so strongly about things they have seen that they write angry letters to the guests on the show, then the producers invite the letter writer and the guest who pissed them off to fight it out live on TV. Quality viewing!! ;D
Jerry Springer is not cancelled? That concept got old real quick. You should try Maury, even though his show is just as trashy as Springer. But Maury is sweet, though. What happened tp Ricki Lake or Jenny Jones?

i don't understnad why they even want to reveal those things in public! like seriously. what is there to gain? except for public embarassment and being looked down upon?
What I want to know is how someone like Jerry Springer can host a pageant show. Shouldn't they pick someone a little more respectable?

ewww jerry springer has NO class. i hate that show its so cheesy and unclassy and cant believe its still on air much less people are still watching it. i prefer maury. at least he has better topics and is more...real. jerry springer is so fake and nasty.

dude if jerry springer called me to come on the show i would immediately go to the closest people in my life and be like, WTF ARE YOU HIDING. I AM NOT GOING ON EFFING JERRY. YOU TELL ME NOW.
