New Female Condom Design Approved
The FDA has (finally) approved the production of a new female condom that will be less expensive and and quieter than its former design. It seems like in America, with heterosexual couples at least, female condoms are pretty hush hush. I rarely see them in the drug store, and I'm not aware that any of my friends use them regularly. I, however, have tried one before. Here is my story.
My (now) ex and I were pretty adventurous when it came to (safe!) sex. We were open to trying just about anything, and one night I went to a club and they were giving away female condoms, so I grabbed a couple. We tried it, and I'm not gonna lie, we pretty much hated it. It was too big, it was an uncomfortable material, and, yes, it was noisy. Awkward. We tried it out for about three minutes probably, then switched back to ol' faithful - latex male condoms. Needless to say, we never tried a female condom again.
Now that the new design for the female condom is officially approved, I will definitely try it out. We don't have a date yet for when it will come out, but it's going to be a lot cheaper (and, with any luck, less strange) than the old kind, which is definitely a plus.
Have you ever tried a female condom? How did you like it?

Never tried it, but I'd like to. Sounds fun!
Thanks for the information. Filing it away in my mind for possible later use....
hm, no, never used it and probably never will.
When my current relationship started I took birth control pill and we used male condoms.
Now Im just taking the birth control pill cause without a condom its much more intensive, we both like it better without.
And I do care much about the correct intake of the birthcontrol pill, so nothing should go wrong.
I have never tried a female condom! Maybe with this new style, I might consider doing so.
Nope.
I've never used a female condom. They looked atrocious. My SO and I started using male condoms again. Bleh. Some getting used to with that even. But female condoms are very rare to see.
I've never used one, but I'd try one, just to see what it's like.
Never tried one before and don't think I will.
Negative..
Negative...
I don't want to learn how to do this..hm..
....
no
i've heard that they're quite hard to put on/take off, so no. taking the time to struggle in putting it in would definitely kill the mood.
i have heard stories where they've gotten stuck before...so no.
but i haven't had penetration sex yet so i don't really need one.
female condoms can also be used for anal sex
lol we had to look at some female condoms today in my human bio lab. They've never appealed to me and I always thought my vag would look weird, gross, and clunky (?) with it on.
I always thought they seemed a bit weird so I doubt I would try it. I think I will stick to male condoms, I know exactly what to expect with those. lol
Female condoms suck...i dont think i will even be bothered with the new one that has been approved...BOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
The female condom? That just anatomically wrong. Back to the drawing board, boys.
I've never tried one.
We were shown the original female condom in sex ed, and it looked so terrible I've never had a desire to try it out. I'll probably skip out on the next version as well...
I KNEW somebody tried a female condom. I KNEW IT!
Last semester during "student success" the health lady came in to tell us about the center on campus. She brought in female condoms to pass around.
That wouldn't have been so bad if she didn't start stretching it out manically, proclaiming "THESE THINGS CAN STRETCH FOREVER!"
Soooo strange...
....i do believe no one will change their habit!!!
Something new that I might not be allergic to. Sounds great. I think I'll try it.
I don't think I would give it a try. I'm just going to stick to the plain simple male latex condom and birth control pills.
my friend tried one on her foot...
haha
