  • New Female Condom Design Approved

The FDA has (finally) approved the production of a new female condom that will be less expensive and and quieter than its former design. It seems like in America, with heterosexual couples at least, female condoms are pretty hush hush. I rarely see them in the drug store, and I'm not aware that any of my friends use them regularly. I, however, have tried one before. Here is my story.

My (now) ex and I were pretty adventurous when it came to (safe!) sex. We were open to trying just about anything, and one night I went to a club and they were giving away female condoms, so I grabbed a couple. We tried it, and I'm not gonna lie, we pretty much hated it. It was too big, it was an uncomfortable material, and, yes, it was noisy. Awkward. We tried it out for about three minutes probably, then switched back to ol' faithful - latex male condoms. Needless to say, we never tried a female condom again.

Now that the new design for the female condom is officially approved, I will definitely try it out. We don't have a date yet for when it will come out, but it's going to be a lot cheaper (and, with any luck, less strange) than the old kind, which is definitely a plus.

Have you ever tried a female condom? How did you like it?

    • About Me: I'm pretty bad at relationships, but I try really hard. I love writing, blogging, reading, eating, exercising, and sexing. That list is not all inclusive. My Ideal SO is someone who challenges me. That's just about the only requirement, aside from the basics: being sweet, caring, loving, supportive, funny, all that stuff. Being adventurous in bed doesn't hurt either.
