How Do You Say Goodbye after A Hookup?
I recently hooked up with a friend, and at the end of the night, when we were saying our goodbyes, I didn't know whether to hug him and say goodbye or kiss him goodbye. He made it even more awkward when I went in for a hug and he went in for a kiss; it was an awkward embrace, but we ended up making out and hugging.
So what is the non-awkward way to say goodbye at the end of a hookup?

You said it was a friend so that makes it a bit more awkward. Are you hoping it happens again? Kiss him and maybe say something along the lines of "We should do this again sometime". Are you never seeing the person again? A hug and a bye should suffice.
If you figure it out, let me know! I just do a hug and a really awkward wave. Usually by the morning I haven't figured it all out yet so yeah, that's all I can muster honestly...

If you want this friendship to advance for something more... then you should have kissed him on the cheek... let him know how you feel...
If you just want to stay friends, then you should have pushed him off when he tries to kiss you...
but since you two did make out... Now the only question you should have is that if he wants to be with you as bf/gf or he was just taking advantage...

I think it works in all instances, especially if it's your intention to leave the receiver speechless and confused as hell.

i generally never talk to hook-ups ever again (not that there has been that many. eep) i also don't do that sort of thing within my circle of friends.. lol

Generally, I say something like, "I'll ttyl" or "see ya" or something like that...generally also hug/kiss depending on who it is and the connection I have w/the guy...
"So when do you wanna meet up again?" is usually a good one.
But I have to admit, I usually get stuck when it comes to the kiss or hug part. It usually ends with a kiss but sometimes (I can just feel it) its just awkward. :P
I never hook up with anyone I'm not serious with but if I did, maybe a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

If it's a friend where there's a chance of it happening again, I guess I would say "until next time..". But I don't know. I once had a one night stand but once it was over I just left the room.
