  • What's The Cutest Thing Your SO's Done For You?

    Miss Fox

I was looking through some of those "Top Pictures of the Week" lists, and came across this picture:

According to the caption underneath the picture, a 62-year old retired firefighter spent four hours raking out the sand on a local beach to create an over-sized 50th birthday card for his lady Janet.  An over-sized is an understatement: the display measured out to be 120ft by 50ft!

Although I think this is probably one of the cutest things I've ever seen, I can't help but be a little jealous.  I mean, what girl DOESN'T want their man to spell out "I LOVE YOU" on a beach for all to see?

What's the sweetest thing your significant other has done for you?  What's the sweetest thing you've ever done for your SO?

My husband was in another town training and I haven't seen him for a couple of days.  I have trouble sleeping at night (alone) and I told him on the phone that I wished he could be here with me.  We said our goodbyes on the phone and I went to bed (or tried to!).

An hour later, I heard someone knocking on the door.  I opened it and I found my husband standing there!

    Not cute but sweeeet

I was mad at my dad one night, and my mom was out of town, so I was talking to my (now ex-)boyfriend on IM, and I said I needed a hug, and he said "Where do you live? Give me five minutes." And five minutes later, there he was.

We've only been going out for a month, so there isn't much yet, but for Valentine's Day I set something up for her. She's in Dallas and I'm in Alabama, so I sent her a package via mail. The package had a cute graphic tee, a VDay letter where I expressed my feelings for her, and a necklace with a heart that said "Always". Before sending the package out though, I took a video of myself showing her what was in it and explaining each item. I uploaded the video midnight after she had gone to bed (she had the package, but hadn't opened it. It arrived a day early). She called me the next morning squealing happily about the gifts and video =P

I thought I had made the video private so only she could see it... later I began to receive comments from a lot of people about how sweet the video was, etc... Almost embarrassing.

Wowza I want someone to do that for me! Anyways the sweetest thing anyone has done for me was a scavenger hunt on valentine day. He came over and hid 13 gifts around my house (13 was the # of months we'd been together at the time)... and he left riddles on each gift so I can find the next one. When I got to the last gift, it was a huge teddy bear with a heart that said Happy Valentines.

I just asked my boyfriend of nearly 4 months to the WPA dance at my school(sadie hawkins) the other day. But instead of flat out asking "wanna go with me?" I wrote it down in Japanese (katakana) and it was like a puzzle for him to figure out what it meant and it was cute =]

I couldn't list the sweetest thing he's done for me because he's done so much.

my boyfriend also did a scavenger hunt for me, left little notes everywhere so i could find a gift at the end :)

he also drove 4 hours to come pick me up at an airport on christmas day because i was stupid enough to miss my flight and had to go take another flight at a farther airport.

and on valentines day he sent me this huge box with some gifts in it and a big singing card and he wrote how much he loved me :)

and some other little things he does everyday to show me how much he cares

my (now ex-) boy friend would write me these cute little letters on lined paper during class and draw pictures of him falling for me and funny little jokes from our time together.  then he'd "mail" them to my dorm across campus so i could read them before bed.

another time, he and were across the dining common from each other but could see ea/other (maybe 40 feet away?).  i was with my friends and he mouthed the words "i miss you" as we caught ea/other's eyes.

My boyfriend of seven months and I were just hanging around when I played around and tried to take off his wristband he's worn for FOUR YEARS. he has NEVER let me take it off.. and never let his ex or anyone take it off. He would wrestle you down if you even tried to get it off. So when I teased him by trying to take it off he pushed my hand out, took it out himself, and let me wear it. Later that day, he told me he had taken it off because i was "the one" That was the absolute cutest! Money doesn't buy you happiness!

I met my SO and three weeks later left for college...5 hours away. I hated it so much that in the middle of December, the day term ended, he worked a 12 hour shift, then proceeded to drive 5 hours, phoneless and alone, with terribly confusing directions to move me back to Iowa so that we could be together again...and he also took that trip previously with my aptly named bff Gabby.

this is my first year in college and i'm doing long distance relationship with my boyfriend. (i'm in SF he's in HI).

Before I left for college, he gave me a CD and told me to listen to it when I'm on the plane with a CD player. I did and it was him singing a mix of songs that meant a lot to me (first dance together, etc) with a special message at the end. I was so touched I cried on the plane.

He has yet to make a "grand gesture", but he used to show up with caramels ... my favorite. :)

My SO has done billions of sweet things. One thing he's done frequently is pick me up from the train station whenever I come home from school late. He will pick up my sister and I and treat us to Wendy's or something else because he knows we're starving.

he made me a video on youtube..with clips of him in it and a few other images...

actually he's made me a few videos.

I had individually wrapped ferro rocher with a little note inside each one of the chocolate candies. Basically i had two piles "happy days" and "sad days" in which there was a note according to each day. In a happy day, it would read something cute and funny, and sad days, there would be a love note full of support

Then there was  a personalized deck of cards. Each number of the deck representeded the month and 4 selected pictures we took within that month :)

We're only going on 5 months... but Christmas (which would've been 3 months in) he knew I was broke (as I'm newly single mom) and he surprised me and my daughter with a car load of presents, all wrapped perfectly... he even had stockings with little things in them... He even bought my fish a heater (I had mentioned how Bud needed a new heater cause he crashed into his and broke it.)

For him, for Valentines, I filled a little box (decorated really cute) with little slips of paper with different things written on them... things that were just ours (that no one else would get), love quote from movies, poem lines... just a bunch of sappy stuff.  I told him every morning he was supposed to take out one and read it. And then he has to text me which one he read.

When he texts me I elaborate on how I feel about that particular phrase. Todays was "I never tire of looking at you." awwww... yesterday was "you are the ying to my yang."

People! Valentine's Day was last week!

...LOL. Joking. I am always thinking of cute things to do next for my SO.
...either that or how mad she would be if she found out I was not doing my homework the day before it's due.
Oh yeah, I think it's obvious but I'm the one who does the cute things. :P

  • XxFireXboltxX@xanga

I'm a total teeny-bopper and yes...I'm almost 25. But I freakin' LOVE the Jonas Brothers.

Somehow my husband managed to get me tickets to their show last February around Valentine's Day. When my friend who was going to go with me got sick at the last minute, he came along with me!!!! The next day when the guys at work were giving him a hard time he said "Hey, she's my wife and it made her happy. I love seeing her happy."

He probably really hated the concert but he never once complained!!! He's just amazing!!! :D

  • DancerDarlin@xanga

Oh, so many things!!  Lately, though, he's been out at sea and we haven't seen each other in four months.  This forced us to write letters and whatnot.  So for the past four months I have gotten extremely heartfelt letters and amazingly sweet home videos.  Also, despite being at sea, he managed to send me roses for Christmas and Valentine's Day, and a stuffed bear in a sailor outfit for our one-year anniversary!

  • unfathomablelove@xanga

not my SO but my best friend

in high school, we used to finish crosswords together in english class.

when there was a period of time we mutually agreed not to talk to each other because of something that came up, he took the daily paper and did a part of the crossword puzzle then scanned it in and attached it to an email and sent it to me and said that if i trouble getting my mind of things, that i could help him finish the rest of the puzzle... it was really cute :)

    • About Me: I am by no means a relationship guru, but I've seen a lot for being so young. I was in an on-again-off-again relationship all through high school, but college has opened my mind and heart. I've learned a lot about what I need in relationships, and what my significant other should want of me. I believe in love, but I believe that you must first be happy with yourself.
