Apparently, there is some device that can read your SIM card and everything on it. It can transfer data from one SIM card to another. (That might be useful.) It can back up phone numbers and text messages on your computer. (That might also be useful.) It can view the last numbers dialed. (Most phones do that, don't they?)
It can edit SIM card information. (Uhh... isn't that what the service provider does? What would you need to change? I mean... I guess maybe credit card information.
It can program your phone to only make certain calls. (Maybe that's for parents that want to limit their younger children or something.)
Oh, and it can recover deleted text messages. (Excuse me, WHAT?)
And they're selling it for $149.
Perhaps this has been around for awhile, but I just found out and I'm appalled.
Sky is advertising this "Little Gem", as they call it, for "suspicious lovers to spy on their partners by reading deleted text messages".

I find this entirely ridiculous. I don't even know where to begin.
I mean, it figures with advancements and such that they'd make such a device. Of course, the government has had it for awhile. Can't have the Patriot Act without the means of impeding on every aspect of everyone's life... but that's a different story.
Sheeeesh, MAN! as if lovers (and parents alike) stalking on Facebook and installing WebWatchers on their victim's computers wasn't enough.
Seriously?
What comes next?

... I don't like it. And I don't even have anything to hide.
Well, it sounds like a cool thingy to have... But for the way it's being advertised, ick!
trust has been thrown out the window....
it landed and hit someones car
it's becoming easier to cheat nowadays, but if you think they're cheating, it would be a better idea to confront them or your fears.
...Wow.
"Seriously?
What comes next?"
E-Z Implant Erection Tracking Devices and Transmitters that allow you to know whether or not your boyfriend is horny when he's not around.
The product itself isn't bad, but the advertisement is absolutely terrible. Who's the douchebag that thought up that marketing idea?
@FireMapleSong@xanga - hahahha, from the way things are going, that seems like a possibility.
I will never be able to get away with anything anymore!
Seriously, I think there is something truly wrong with not trusting your boyfriend enough to recover his deleted texts. Wowwwwwww.
I can understand that for like...a parent, or even the government. I mean, I think as a parent you have every right in the world to do whatever is necessary to check up on your kids if you think something is going on. Too many parents turn and look the other way and the next thing you know, your kid is on the 5 o'clock news. And the government, their job is keeping this nation safe so by all means, do what is needed to protect our borders -- spy on me all you want. I have nothing to hide so I don't care. But do they HAVE to advertise it like that? As if people didn't trust their SO enough....wow. Find a better way to advertise....
Wait, wait, wait. So you're telling me I have to not only delete my internet history and gigabytes of pornography off of my computer, but destroy my SIM card too? Come on!
Eeep. Sounds sketchy to me...
Sounds good for backing up files and retrieving information, but to advertise it as a device to spy on you boyfriend? That's just wrong...
Well, here's the deal; it's their relationship they'll possibly be screwing up.
This is terrible. Not only does this allow someone to indulge in their lack of trust, but it tempts completely trusting people to untrust their loved one. This is an infringement on personal freedom and personal space. What ever happened to mutual understanding?!
Well I guess if you're obsessed/insecure enough to waste $149 just for that...
That's sad. I'll never leave my phone around anyone ever again. Bunch of nosy creepers! (... wait, I don't do that anyway...)
LOL
thats creepy. no trust at all. kinda stalkerish.
anyone who wants to track there boyfriend or girlfriends deleted texts and whatnot is completely physco.
Stalker...
LOL way too priceyyy for me
He's not worth 150 buck - just to stalk him
like seriously ... sweat
Okay, maybe if you're some crazy paranoid CIA wannabe trying to catch your significant other in the act, this might be useful for you. But if someone is so untrustworthy, why bother being in the relationship at all?
Oo. Too expensive. I rather spend it on something else.
