"My Wife Left Me for Another Girl - And It's My Fault"
I just read the craziest article in Details magazine. It was about men who pushed their wives/girlfriends into having threesomes with bisexual women (or twosomes with lesbians) and then were left by these newly discovered lesbians. One girlfriend almost broke up with her BF because she felt exploited and unfaithful. And this article made me think about the straight man's fascination with lesbianism, something I will probably never understand.
If you think about it, lesbianism is way more "mainstream" than male homosexuality. Way back in 2005, I read an article promoting the movie Wedding Crashers and someone said - and I'll never forget this - "Two chicks kissing is hot; two guys kissing is gross-out humor." And in the last three and a half years I still haven't understood the logic of that statement. I mean, I know that if you ask any straight man, he'll agree with the statement, but I just want to know why he'll agree.
What do you think? Are girls just more bi-curious than guys are? Why do guys find lesbian sex hot? Do some girls find male gay sex hot?

I think that girls are definitely more curious and likely to experiment. Men have a manly reputation to live up to that disables many of them from even being able to feel curious. However, I think that many girls hook up with other girls for attention. This is not to say that there aren't hundreds of thousands of serious, legitimate lesbians or bi-sexual girls out there. It does mean though that there are definitely a serious number of girls that just do it for the show. Girls know that many guys like a little girl-on-girl action, and feed into it. Sad, but true.
I think it's more of just a cultural bias against gay guys. Men are really looked down on for being gay, while gay women get less flack. Guys who are more feminine in general tend to get knocked down, and gays tend to be... more feminine, in general. I think that if you like seeing lesbian sex and you're a dude, you probably like looking at sex of any kind, you're just too afraid to say it/think it because you know there will be a negative reaction. So they just go "yay, lesbians."
-i don't think girls are more bi-curious though. It's just that society is more OPEN to the idea of girls being bi-curious.
The double standard kinda pisses me off. I think it should be an all-or-nothing type of thing. You either find both acceptable or find both disturbing.
I'm indifferent towards gay sex of either kind, by the way.
I think it differs. The mainstream says one thing, but who knows how it all really is? I know straight people into gay sex. I know gay people into straight sex. I know people into all kinds of things. It really just depends on who you talk to and know, I think.

well, society approves more of 2 girls kissing than 2 guys. if you were brought up with the idea from birth, we wouldn't be discussing this

Fuck that noise... It all has to do with hyper-masculinity... The thought process is simple:
"Oh man, I don't want my buddies to think i'm gay... So if i go crazy every time i see naked girls that'll make me seem really straight, right?"
Of course this can lead to a problem whenever the guy believes homosexuality is a sin:
"Gay people are bad, but lesbians are... awesome...?"
I guess with lesbians, there is no penis involved so they don't have to pay attention to some piece of meat flopping around. Girls tend to be bi-curious alot more than males since, well, alot of people tend to find 2 males kissing very disgusting.
I've seen two males kiss before (I have friends who are gay) and it doesn't really bother me. (Commence "You're gay" insults here).
We just accepted society's way of defining what is awesome and what is gross when it come to sexuality.

I read/heard of a study that a woman can be turned on by any sex regardless to who they are attracted to- while men can only be turned on by the sex they're attracted. I guess that's why women are more bisexual.
