Crazy Ex-Girlfriends Don't Exist

My friends and I were talking about crazy ex-girlfriends when our friend Maggie cut us short."Have you ever actually met a crazy ex-girlfriend?"
"Who would want to?"
"Boys just say their ex-girlfriend is crazy after the break-up. I assure you we've all been described as the crazy ex-girlfriend. The term applies to any female who has been hurt and still wants an explanation. If we ever met this boy's ex, we'd probably take her out for a drink."
This really got me thinking. People do the most outrageous things in the name of deep affection. Within the relationship, those things are considered sweet. Once a person decides to end a relationship, you all of a sudden classify the other person's actions as crazy. Case in point: Maggie's ex called her crazy when she made four poster-size collages and shipped them to his abode in Wales.
So, have you ever done anything crazy to win back a significant other? Did you regret it or did it work? Do exes really go crazy, or do we say that to make us feel better about the breakup?

Maybe I'm the exception to the rule, but I've never labeled an ex-girlfriend as crazy.
Well, not any of mine. My brother's ex is actually crazy. Compulsive liar, kleptomaniac, drug abuser, etc. I just hope she finally relinquishes her paranoia and gets some treatment.
well theres the kind of crazy exes that go off and kill their exes. but i suppose the victims never have a chance to spread the word that theyre crazy

That's so true! I've never been the crazy ex-girlfriend, but I'm sure I probably will be at some point. I don't think they actually go crazy, they are probably just seen as crazy by the dumped.

SOME PEOPLE ARE CRAZY before THEY BECOME YOUR EX...BUT YOU NEVER FIND OUT THE CRAZY SHIT THEY CAN DO TILL AFTER YOU BREAK UP...I HOWEVER WAS NOT SO LUCKY TO BE IN THAT CATAGORY.

i didn't do anything crazy, but when one of my exes found out i told his girlfriend that he was talking to both me and her at the same time, he told her that i was a crazy bitch that didn't know what i was talking about. -_-
hahha I have met a crazy ex girlfriend. And she was.. she was psychologically unstable. But then again.. she had just given birth to a child that was theirs. He claims that they were sharing the child, but he had no intentions of getting back with her, but it clearly seemed otherwise to her. She insisted that they were back together. And then she proceeded to make a comment about me...which was uncalled for. She was just a flaming jealous stalkerish ex girlfriend/bitch.
Needless to say, I walked away from all of it. I stopped returning his calls so I never had to deal with that kind of ridiculous drama again.
Not worth it especially if they are sharing a child.
Believe me, there are crazy exes out there...

I agree with what you've said. Things that were "cute and sweet" become psychotic b/c ppl aren't on the same page anymore. I guess really like someone has the tendency to make some ppl insane. Never personally been a crazy ex b/c I've always been the one to walk away and I hope I never lose myself enough to be one.

Crazy ex girlfriends may not exist, but crazy CURRENT girlfriends certainly do. You know, the ones who won't allow their boyfriends talk to exs? And even have problems with their guys being friends with other girls? Yeah, they're the crazy ones.

I am a crazy ex-girlfriend. I was very angry. I am not proud of my behavior (hence the anonymity) but we do exist.

Yes. I had a sweet, good, man turn into a crazy ex after we broke up.
He would send me hate e-mails, threaten to expose every little thing he knew and have of me, and even lied to me that he had aids.
I just thought that was creepy.
As for me, once someone broke up with me.. I cry. I hurt. But that's it.
Crazy ex-girlfriends DO exist. I`ve had my fair share of run ins with them.
1. My boyfriend's ex is a crazy ex gf. Her and my boyfriend broke up almost a year before he met me, and when she realized he talks me, she came upto me and fed me a bunch of lies about him. Even after me and him started dating, (a year ago) she continued to call him begging hiim to take her back. And yes, she knows we're dating. So it's been two years since my ex broke up with her, and she still refuses to move on.
2. My friend's ex gf. She's 21 and already married. Yet, she will not leave my friend alone. She stalks him by showing up everywhere she knows he will be at. Work, school, parties etc. She contacts him at all hours via AIM, facebook, phone calls, texts etc. asking him to take her back.
3. My friend's brother's ex gf. Same story as my friend's ex except she's a few years older. 25 / 26 maybe?
So yeah... they def do exist =)
I think ex-girlfriends are called crazy when they can't let go.
Which is probably why I got called crazy. I mean, I punched my exboyfriend in the face, and I guess that was pretty crazy, but my friends understood me.
i've never really had a crazy girlfriend, but i have a friend who has...
that girl was pretty normal as long as she wasn't involved with anything around her ex. when he (my friend) was in the equation, she'd do the strangest and craziest things ever. for example, she'd call him and stuff, and then when he called back, she'd yell at him about how much she hated him and never wanted to speak to him again. and then she'd come back as needy and suddenly turn on him and trouble would come and the cops would get involved(!) sometimes.
i thought it might've been bipolar disorder, but she never had theses manic/depressive states when he wasn't around.

hahaha... crazy ex-girlfriends... they definitely exist. at some point in my life, i've been a crazy ex-gf myself. thank god! i finally got over it.

I've never been a crazy ex-girlfriend, but I have been a crazy girl that's just been jilted by someone she liked a lot/been involved with. It's one of the things I hate about myself, because I know when I'm being irrational and yet I have to let out my anger and confusion out somehow. So I take it out on the guy.
But there are different kinds of crazy though, as some above me have said. The ones that are angry and confused and simply yell at you, and the ones that attempt to light your car on fire without saying a word.
Um, when my high school ex and I initially broke up, she threatened to burn down my female friend's house for talking to me and later on she kept saying she was being raped by her uncle in a trailer park (she later admitted she lied). Thankfully, she stopped behaving that way a few months later.
So yes, crazy exes do exist =P
There ARE such thing as crazy exes. Anything an ex girlfriend tries with her ex boyfriend to win him over when he already has a new girlfriend is considered crazy.
LOLOLOL I'm sorry, but "crazy ex-girlfriends don't exist" is a damned lie.
My current boyfriend? His ex would show up at our house, drunk and begging for a place to stay, regardless as to whether or not I was there. She would call me, email me, or find any way to harass me and tell me what a horrible person I was, she would tell EVERYONE who would listen that I was a big fat whore, and then she would try to sleep with every male I know. Including my brother, and Oh Yeah, MY BOYFRIEND. She would crash our parties and call at all hours of the night, until we threatened her with a restraining order.
This lasted for about a year after their breakup.
Crazy? Hm, I don't know....you tell me.
