  • Online Dating is Not Humiliating

    Mr. Giraffe

A few days ago, there was a post about online dating and some people tended to think that it was a last resort kind of thing.

I disagree. Meeting someone online has a stigma, I think, because it implies that the online dater is striking out in the non-virtual world. But that isn't true! Personally, I think online dating is more for people who don't want to waste their time with lame blind dates or trying to find a soulmate at a bar/club. Online dating is more for people who are looking for a serious relationship and who only want a choice from people who are looking for the same.

    What are your thoughts?

I think its okay...it just takes some time for people to get used to the idea...we've only had internet for like 10 years...=T

    "lame blind dates"

Sometimes, online dating can be blind dating too, because you haven't been "in real touch with that person" before you met him/her. There is a huge probability that the person on the internet is actually a totally different person in real life.

what do people think of cyber dating?  i.e. just chatting and camming, and never meeting in real life? I kinda like it! http://enter.onhercam.com/track/OTI6Nzo1/ No drama and you can quickly move on!

i support online dating. you never know. i wasn't looking for a bf or anything, but i did meet a really great guy (well, we haven't met in person) but we've been talking for 4 years. he's like my best friend. when we do meet, it'll be weird, but i don't think it's for desperate people. different tools for different jobs or something like that. one thing may work for one person and vice versa.

@nikkijane - cyber dating i feel can be degrading. unless you really really want to do it. and don't think i'm just saying this just to say it. i once did this crap and i regret it. you lose something. you're exposed in a negative light.
