This is a guest blog submitted by Suppermick. So I'm 20 years old; I recently graduated from culinary school and am still trying to save up to finally move out. My girlfriend is younger than me, but it's not an issue - we get along great and although we're still in the early stages of the relationship, everything is going smoothly.
On Black Friday, I invited her over to my house to watch a movie and just enjoy a night at home. Because I have my own room and everything, we stayed in there pretty much the whole time, and well...things got a little fun. She ended up staying the night at my house and sleeping next to me on my bed. It was an awesome night; I don't have any regrets at all.
I had to work early the next morning and offered to drop her off at her place on my way. When we were walking out together, my mom, who was sitting in front of the computer in the other room, signaled for me to come over. "I see you had company over last night...." and I was, like, "Yeah, it's cool, no worries," and she was, like, "are you being....careful...?"

The last thing I want to talk about with my mom is whether or not I'm covering my penis with latex before I stick it my girlfriend's vagina. I just kinda said yeah, not to worry and I left immediately. There are few times I've felt so awkward in front of my mom, and honestly, I didn't know how to handle it. Of course, when I saw her again that night after work, she asked me all sorts of questions about her. I told her not to make a big deal out of it, and she said she wouldn't as long as I didn't end up in jail (my girlfriend is 17).
Normally, my rule is that I don't bother introducing girls to the family until it's been at least six months.
Is anyone else's mom really bad at handling situations like that?
Do you feel really awkward when your mom asks you questions about your relationships?

my mom is HORRIBLE!!! she is the absolute WORST!! its extremely awkward! i can barely, actually not at all, even talk about my period issues let alone sex!!! my mom is like the president of awkward-sex-talks-ville!
if shes worried about you going to jail, maybe you should date someone who is um of legal age.
Well if you still live with your mom and insist on acting stupid and having sex with a minor than your mom should be all up in your business. You are the one handling things badly, not her.
@irishgrrl690@xanga - LOL hilarious...
my mom just told me to protect myself..and be safe..not SO awkward but it's always awkward when parents bring up the sex subject. lolll funny though
Uhm. I think since she's already sleeping over at your house, shouldn't there be a formal introduction?
Plus. I really think the situation could've been a lot worse.
@Blue_Dragon_Designs@xanga - I'm completely on your side for this one.

SO FUCKING FUNNY
well my boyfriend comes home for a leave in the military, and we've been dating for 4 months (you know that 3 month rule..) and my mom knows that something is bound to happen. Ive been on birth control since May, and im good, and of course, he's gonna do his part. bla bla. But long story short is that if you usually hide your relationship, its just gonna be awkward. luckily, my mom and i kinda have this "dont ask, dont tell" relationship with men. so it works out for me.
My mom is horrible for awkward questions. I try to avoid doing anything that would make her ask me something awkward, it's never fun. x)
@Blue_Dragon_Designs@xanga - I'm sorry I seem to have hit a hot button with you, understandable how people are about their kids sorry to have offended you. But the insinuation that I'm thinking with my pants is a wrongful conclusion on your part. My fiance and I share this age difference, we actually met when I was 17 and he 20. You're right, I'm not a mother, but I am the daughter of a mother, and also in my defense I've been working in child care for the last 8 years and have become very familiar with child development and the relationship between a child's behavior and their parent's treatment of them. It's interesting what you'll find when looking at something from a DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE.
@nauticaloblivion@xanga - It really wasn't a hot issue for me until I started getting the replies to my origninal question. I just wanted to know what the girl's parents thought about her spending the night with him. Everyone else seemed too concerned about the 20 year old man being embarassed by his mother but no one seemed to notice the age difference or the fact that he is living with his mom and therefore should be respectful of her.
My dad pretty much doesn't want to know, even though I told him when I lost my virginity.
My mother on the other hand, always makes sex comments. They are kind of awkward but at least she's comfortable enough I guess.
she says things like "You guys are using protection right?"
"Your cousin is pregnant, that's it right?"
"Do you need more pills? We have to make sure you have them"
"Don't change your birth control, we know for sure this one's working"
"He ain't going nowhere. He got the goods."
Then once my mom told me she wasn't going to come to visit after she said she was thinking about it. I told her don't worry, she doesn't need to come, I'll be alright.
"I know, you're a woman now"
"What does that mean?"
"You know what I mean."
@Blue_Dragon_Designs@xanga - You're right it IS my mom's house and if I'm going to have the guts to bring a girl over, I should have the manliness to not be embarrassed. And the girls parents are fine with it, it's kind of a broken relationship between her and her mother.
@irishgrrl690@xanga - OMGosh... I like your dad's sense of humor... haha... That's great! XD
My mom once walked in on me having sex with my girlfriend so when she talked to me that night she was all 'You know i saw you and her on the bed. And dont think i didnt know what you were doing. All im saying is that be careful and whatever you do make sure it isnt on the internet when i go to Youtube.' XD
Yes, i feel complete awkward when my mum asks me these types of questions.
But you'd miss the embarrassment if she wasnt around. So enjoy it :)
