Friday Fun: Aunt Flo's In Town - Are You Checking Out?
It's been a hot topic at Datingish HQ this week - what do you do when Aunt Flo's in town?
As a girl, I'm totally uncomfortable with the idea of fooling around when it's that time of the month - first of all, I feel gross; second of all, only I should have to deal with that, not the boyf; third...no!
Girls, are you with me or are you okay with going full speed ahead all the time? Guys, do you hold off on asking during that special time?

I am definitely not ok with fooling around during that time of month. My boyfriend seems fine with it but I just think it's gross. So we hold off from fooling around. I'm glad he respects my wishes.
Ah but there is so much fun stuff that can be done without actually having sex. You can get much closer to your significant other if they have to learn to please you without vaginal penetration. Just my thought though...
ewww...the whole concept just makes me gag. no, I am not ok with it!
Oh yeah, fun...I'm not into doing anything while "aunt flow" is in town. I just can't wait for her to leave!
Yeah, fooling around at that time is gross. I kind of hint to my guy that it's that time, and we don't do sexual things. I mean, there's lots else to do not involving that area... but actual fooling around at that time, no.
ewww!!!!!
ppl do it during their period!!!
[shrug]
hello to fun times in the shower
@s_h_a_sha@xanga - It happens, just make sure if it does you bring a lot of paper towels. Of course, not that I would know anything about that..
In my past experience I would say usually no, nothing is going down (literally) during that time haha.
personally, i'm very easily turned on during that time. i'm a virgin so "vaginal penetration" isn't much of an option... but i get by.
I'm with you.
i'm a virgin, but the concept of sex while i'm on my period is plain NASTY. i'm definitely against it. srtongly.
omg this reminds me of that SATC episode where Samantha gets her period during sex...but it was a happy moment for her since she thought she was "drying up" as she put it
her boytoy was none too please lol
Dude, just do it in the shower, or get one right after (with your SO..
).
As someone who is in a seriously longterm relationship I see no issue with "doing it" while "Aunt Flow" is in town. Nor does my man.
While there are certain things I wouldn't want done to me during my period, it's not a big deal having regular sex. It's really not any more "disgusting" than having sex not on your period unless you have a heavy flow. Whether you're in the shower or in the bed doing it, the mess is minimal to the same as "normal" sex.
Of course, if you're not comfortable doing it, no amount of assurance from other people is going to convince you. If you choose not to, you and your SO/FWB/FB just don't get booty for 3-10 days. If you're fine with that, don't try to fix what isn't broken.
It's a no unless I'm at the very beginning or the very end of my cycle when it's not that bad. But for the middle of the cycle, there's always the shower...
But it also nice to just please your boyfriend during this time and have him learn how to please you without full on intercourse :)
Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. Idk just too gross for me. My husband doesn't even think of doing it at that time. lol. I don't blame him though.
@hollywoodxstudio@xanga - I agree with you 100%
Why question the obvious. It would be too gross to do so in a time like that.
I'm not into that.
hmm....at first i was disgusted by the thought of even making out while on a period, but it's not too bad actually. my fiance and i still haven't had sex, but we definitely fool around and have a good time whether aunt flo is in town or not.
Why must people always use euphemisms when referring to menstruation?
@methodElevated@xanga - alas, "copulation during menstruation?" just didn't have the same ring to it.
@datingish - Even just saying "period" wouldn't be as silly as "Aunt Flow" or "that special time".
I have no problem with sex during that time because it feels different, in a very good way. I think that if you are not having sex during this time because it's "gross", then you are missing out on the fun!
@methodElevated@xanga - Agreed! Such euphemisms just perpetuate the idea that menstruation should be treated with shame and secrecy. And judging by a lot of the responses here, we could all be reminded that menstruation is completely natural and not any more "gross" or "dirty" than, say, mens' semen.
