This is a guest blog submitted by thegreenwaffle.I dated a guy who was pretty awesome. He was funny, cool and real. When I asked him the forbidden question, "Am I fat?", he didn't reply with a "no". He didn't reply with a "yes".
He replied, "You have a nice thickness."
What is that? Has anyone else ever been called that?
I know I'm not skinny. I also know I'm not really big either. I'm just more in the BMI >25 section (sigh...I'm workin' on it). Guys like girls with a little bit of meat on them, so this question is for the guys: how MUCH meat do you like on ladies? And WHY does the little extra make it so awesome? I don't want none of that, "it has to be in the right places". What if it's NOT in the right places?

Not all guys like women to have meat on them please remember. After my last child I didn't need to put safety pins in my skirts and I liked my new curvy look. I was still a size 3, but my clothes fit really nice. My kids dad wanted to know what I was going to do to get back down to my pre-pregnancy weight
i'm a size 3! LOL.
SHE'S
P - H - A - T , baby! not F - A - T!
Thickness is in the thighs, she got love handles for him to grab. she got meat in the right places - ass, thighs, boobs - and she has a small waist.. = CURVES, baby!
I'm an Asian girl who is ThicKkkkk. lol
It all depends on her body type, I believe. Like I have big hips
[I think so at least] so of course I'm going to look better if I'm more filled out instead of skin and bones, just to balance it out.
Who cares what they think. If you feel good and look good according to your standards....that's all that matters.....
I like some padding because it is soft. I don't like bony. I also don't like obese. I am a bit overweight like many people, and like you, I am 'working on it.' I 'work on it' all the time, and go up and down. Even at my maximum, I was not obese, and have never been listed as such by the medical community. I want to keep it down for medical reasons. As for where the padding is, I like it to be in some proportioned distribution. For example, if the legs and arms are skinny and the butt is as wide as a truck, that is a turn-off. If a person has a gut that hangs out so far that they have to bend over to see their feet, that is a turn off. Now, I will also say that I have a flat ass, in my opinion, and my gut is where I have my fight. I realize that it is a turn off for some people, but you asked what I liked, not what others may like in me! Just being fair about it. Oh yeah, I'm a man btw.
"Thick" is always a good thing where I come from.
who cares?
As long as you like how you look, then that's all that matters. I mean, as long as you're healthy.
Plus, why ever ask a guy if you're fat....?
Wow. The title made me expect something completely different. Who cares? He said you have a "nice thickness." Isn't that good enough? And by the way, if a guy said that to me, I'd take it as a "No, you're not fat." But why do girls ask guys if they're fat? I, for one, wouldn't ask my husband if he thought I was fat. And I've never asked a boyfriend either.
I've always wondered too. I think it's just different for each guy what they like. My first BF said he liked the weight I was at (middle range for my height) but then would make comments about how "big" his sisters arms were (she and I are the same height and she was 10-15 lbs less than me.) *rolls eyes* THAT didn't make me feel good. :-/ Anyway, my guy friends say though that they life girl's with "meat on their bones" (I've always thought that phrase sounded weird though :-/) and someone they can "hold onto." I've said that I want to remain a healthy enough weight that my guy could pick me up and carry me around if he wanted. So that's my guideline.
@AlterEgo909@xanga - THAT'S FA SHO. =]
Thick in not the right places is stomache, neck, head, feet and hands,I suppose. Imagine a fat head, neck, feet, stomache and handed girl.. UGLLYYY! jk.....
This is a chick... (I'm also a chubby female)
If it isn't in the right places, it's off. Like it don't look right.
But a nice size for a female would be like Janet Jackson, Jessica Alba, Christina Milian, Beyonce & such... The coke bottle shape.
A semi-curvy hip, a taut yet full butt, and a slender yet thunderous thigh.
Not to be rude or anything but, I heard the best measurement that "most" guys, a survey taken in the some mens magazine, go by is when you can cup a girls lower end of butt and your hand forms as if grasping a large coffee mug (without the handle).
weird I know, but i likey!
Also females like Jennifer Hudson & America Ferrera are nice shaped, and aren't "fat."
i'm pretty thin, my hip bones stick out etc etc. my boyfriend finds it extremely sexy that when i stretch laying down, my stomach gets sucked in so you can't see it anymore, my hip bones stick out, and he can see my ribs (but only when i stretch, that's normal!).
so really, it depends on the person. my boyfriend loves me thin, but he also hates that he does because he worries about my weight at the same time. (i'm not thin for him, i'm thin for me. it makes me feel good about myself, and i'm not anorexic or anything. i eat a lot but exercise, too! naturally thin is what i'm getting at i guess...)
@kruton87@xanga - "Wow. The title made me expect something completely different."
I'm totally with you on that
And no, I've never told anyone they have a nice thickness. That's just...awkward sounding haha.
@exclamated@xanga - lol. that made me laugh, but its good to know :)
a "nice thickness" is definitely a compliment. i think weight is no longer as black and white as fat and skinny. if you're healthy and you like where you are, and so does your guy, just enjoy it :]
I'm a size 7 in juniors (4-6 in women's), and sometimes that feels too big.
I think men's tastes vary. But generally, as long as you have a shapely figure, you should be considered attractive. Tiny waist + curvy hips + butt + breasts = awesome.
And, if it's not in the right place? You just need to lose it! No one is really attracted to a girl whose gut is bigger than her breasts. Sorry.
wat do you expect, asking a guy if ur fat?!?!?
wat did u want to hear?
Sorry but muffins are only for breakfast.
"More cushion for the pushin'?" Hahahaha. For me, a little meat shows me that the girl is not too high maintenance and too self conscious. I don't like girls that only order some croutons and water on a date. Hour glass shape ladies, please. :)
I'm also one skeptical of girls who ask, "Am I fat?" I don't wanna sound rude, but it seems only to be a sympathy grabber. Am I the only one who thinks so?
I've been called thick.
It's okay, really. Just means you have T and A.
a nice "thickness"!? can anyone think a more unromantic un-suave way of saying "you're just the right size?"
*shudders*
It all depends on the guy. What I consider "thick" can be totally different from the guy next to me. I'd say, as long as the girl is proportional, then it shouldn't be a problem.
What pisses me off is when an obviously fat girl says she's thick. I just want to scream, "honey, don't kid yourself, put down the cheese burger and hit the gym".
