My Boyfriend Is Sweet, But He's Sweating All Over Me - Ew.
This is a guest blog submitted by a Datingish reader.
Last night I went to the movies with my boyfriend - we saw a very scary movie. I'm kinda a wimp, and as we were sitting there, he could sense I was scared and put his arm around me. This was very nice.
After, like, five minutes, I could feel my shoulder starting to get damp because he was sweating so bad it was dripping onto me.
What's a good way to get out of having my shoulder soaked? Do I move or do say something or what?

Um...tell him he's sweating on you?
Not for nothing, but I don't think there's really anyway to say it other than just saying it.
possible solutions:
1. oil your shoulder up. Oil and water doesn't mix, as physics teaches.
2. wear a "pail" sweater. Good to absorb sweat in sports.
3. Go only in cinemas with air con set on "arctic fantastic"
4. change bf. But that's extreme... :)
@NiDH0GG@xanga - lol
do the shoulder-hand-switcher-ooni
just move your head forcing his arm to move then grab his hand so it'll be less harsh on you. Holding hands is perfect then sweaty shoulders =]
STRESS STINKS
ARRID WORKSSSSSSS
You can definitely move out of the way if he's sweating on you.. not like you're obligated to remain under his arms. I'd also tell him about it 'cause I'm sure he's not aware of this issue. He might get a little embarrassed but I'm sure he'll understand. After all, he is your boyfriend. :)
@NiDH0GG@xanga - LOL #4 was great.
Just be honest. I told my ex when he first kissed me, he slobbered all over me. We took a break for 7 months, when we got back, he was a damn great kisser and NO MORE SLOBBERING! Honest is the best policy.
I would DEFINITELY tell him. Even as a joke.. but only you guys. Don't mention it in front of his friends. HOOBOY you're asking for trouble if you bring something like that up on public. He needs to know, or else it's never gonna change!
Three easy steps:
1. drizzle some of your Coke on the floor
2. step in it
3. prop your foot on his leg
His response will provide the perfect opportunity to point out his poor hygiene.
Just tell him. There's no harm done either way. As Irishgrrl posted, keep it between the two of you. Use your discretion, please!
If you're having problems mentioning like underarm sweat, something else might be wrong in this relationship.
The importance of communication cannot be stressed enough. Without the ability to talk about the small things like this, what is going to happen when something REALLY matters?
probably, saying something about it would be a good start.
Move the arm from your shoulders to you holding his arm. If you're scared, it's better to hold on to his arm for 'protection' than for him to wrap his arms around you.
eww!! i'd say just get up and go to the bathroom, and then when you come back, sit in a position where you can still snuggle up without getting BO-juice.
and you might want to tell him. give him a stick of antiperspirant or something in a gift basket with other things that smell nice.
Eh just tell him he's sweating a lot. You'll probably get used to it eventually lol.
Communicating with him is the best policy. You're also in the best position to be able to tell him without him getting defensive/embarrassed about it.
Also, perhaps investing in some anti-antiperspirant for him might be handy too...
Was the movie theater that hot? There must have been an underlying reason as to why he was sweating that much...
hahahahahahahahahahaha, thats so freakin gross. i'm sorry you had to endure that, but you've gotta tell him especially if you want this relationship to work. it's good to start off on the honesty foot
Just tell him.
@NiDH0GG@xanga - lol literally. :D
Gross! LOL. Maybe you should take him to Target, and say casually 'hey honey, I heard this brand of deodorant is really good, you should try it'
@NiDH0GG@xanga - arctic-fantastic hahaha i've never heard that
@NiDH0GG@xanga - hahahahahaha at 'Artic fantasic'.funniest thing I've heared all day.
Move seems to be the most hilarious option. Otherwise, arctic fantastic for the win.
He probably has hyperhidrosis. It's a condition characterize by excess sweating. There are prescription medications, such as Drysol, that could help him.
www.sweathelp.org is also good.
Good luck.
@NiDH0GG@xanga - LMAO! I loved all the options.
Aww just tell him, hun. He probably knows it already, but he doesn't know that it is bothering you. As if someone wouldn't know that they have a sweating problem.
LOL
you need to tell him he's dripping sweat on you!!
