They're Playing Our Song! Music For You & Your SO
This is a guest blog submitted by breakingthemold.
For different stages, events and people in my life, I've picked out different songs for each of them.
"Cowboys and Angels" described my first serious relationship. Songs from other relationships or times in them were "Your Eyes" from Rent, "Here Without You" by 3 Doors Down, "When You Love Me" by Martina McBride, "Better To Have Loved" by Idina Menzel, and the list goes on....
What song would describe your relationship with your SO overall? What about specifically right now?

that song from armaggeddon by aerosmith....forgot the name...damn it.
Here (In Your Arms)--Hellogoodbye
Is "our song."
But also I Will Follow You Into The Dark--Death Cab for Cutie (car karaoke from the good old days) and Boom Boom Boom Boom--The Vengaboys (the first song we danced to).
A Different Kind of Pain by Cold and Which to bury, us or the hatchet? by Relient K.
Lately Hold Me Down by Motion City Soundtrack has been a constant reminder of my last relationship.. -.-
ehhhhhhh it was "back that azz up" w/ the last SO because he's a gangster rap junkie. now? none haha
Ooh... Every song made by Jimmy Eat World tells the story of my relationship with my ex.
At the Beginning by Richard Marx & Donna Lewis for our relationship.. we started out as friends.
Supposed to Be by Jack Johnson to describe us now.. & I guess Put Your Arms Around Me by Natasha Bedingfield 'cause we broke up for a while & now we're back together.. For my boyfriend, it's Soulmate by Natasha Bedingfield & Whatever You Like by T.I. that he's been saying reminds him of me/us now.
Out Loud by Dispatch or Dream Catch Me by Newton Faulkner
watch the movie 9 songs
i find it fitting
"Only One" by Yellowcard. He's not my SO, but we have a quasi/pseudo-relationship that's complicated as hell.
You Are My Sunshine.
hahahaha. Even though if you look at all the lyrics, the song is pretty depressing. :/
Hahaha I guess our "song" would have to be this weird... swedish techno thing that's got a lot of anime stuff to it on Youtube-- "Caramelldansen." I'm so not into any part of that, but he used to listen to it because it was funny (and really, what isn't funny at 3am?) and now it reminds me of him. =D
My search for love, though, is perfectly illustrated by Five for Fighting's "If God Made You."
It's weird, but "Can't Believe It" by T.I. ft. that creepy Lil Wayne guy summed things up with the guy I was dating. I could hear the hook from it playing in my head EVERY time we were kissing, ha.
Before him, Sean and I had sooo many songs. The most important being "Thank You" by Dido (because even the worst day was cured by the other person), "Wouldn't it Be Nice?" by the Beach Boys (since we were dreaming of the future and spending nights together) and "Up in Arms" by the Foo Fighters (because his childish moods ended our relationship twice, but we couldn't forget each other and always came back together) . Ah, we were just so in love.
I've never had a song with any of my significant others. But Nightwish's song "I Wish I Had an Angel" always makes me think of something that happened between me and my current crush. Porcupine Tree's "Collapse the Light into Earth" makes me think of him, but not of "us" so much...
our song is that's so you by the rocket summer.
My mom heard it and said it fits my boyfriend and I to a t.
Xo
"don't wanna miss a thing" - aerosmith... and "amazed" - lonestar.
they're more like love songs in general than 'our song,' but i still like them...
"invincible" - muse
is kind of another love song in general, but he really likes muse, and he started listening to them when we started going out so it reminds me of him. :)
tiny vessels by death cab, the whole fucking song.
"i miss you" by incubus has been 'our song' and a perfect anthem for us.
we're in an ldr, see. it's terrible. but i love him, so it's worth it.
"Say" - John Mayer, "Reasons to Love You" - meiko, and "On My Own" - The Used.
@irishgrrl690@xanga - Ahh yeah, the good old days of "I Will Follow You Into The Dark"
Oh those lunchtime breaks and afternoon adventures with others in the car wondering exactly what the hell was going on when they hear THREE octaves. How I miss those days with you.
...I think I'd have a mix..
Love Song for No One by John Mayer. LOL
Golden Slumbers - the Beatles
reminds me of him so much.
