This is a guest blog submitted by sahar. Today, as I was
walking through the Fashion District to get to work, I passed
Parsons
and noticed an extremely well-dressed, attractive man walking behind
me. I immediately wanted to grab his attention so I started thinking,
what can I do?
My cardigan was hanging over my bag. Then it
"accidentally" fell... oops. The extremely attractive man picked it up
and we made brief conversation for probably less than a minute. I
complimented him on his Sonic Youth teeshirt because it was amazing
and I happen to have the same one.
Then, just as I was indulging in his blue eyes as he lifted up his white Ray-Bans, I heard a name calling from behind him.
"Paul! You're still here! Great!" He ran up to my eye candy and gave him a kiss on the lips.
I was disappointed, to say the least. My
Gaydar is usually right on point, since I've been trained by my gay best friend; however, this time I was completely off!
The perfectly groomed hair at 9:30 a.m. should have thrown me off, but I'm not one to follow stereotypes and he was just so cute!
How's your Gaydar? Have you ever been attracted to someone whose orientation wasn't what you expected?

Haha! Too funny!
Um, I'm not very reliable on my Gaydar. Sometimes I think people that are gay are actually straight!!
I try to befriend the ones I'm attracted to anyway. In case they change their mind.
LOL YES! except he never admitted he was gay.
about 6 months ago, I met a cute guy in a coffee shop.
He gave me his business card which means his number and e-mail adress. I didn't want to be too obnoxious, so I e-mailed. we e-mailed back and forth several times. Then we met up. I was just helping him with a project but we flirted constantly. Then he invited me over to hang out like just for fun. I brought him dinner and we had a good time and that night he kissed me.
He seemed fruity because he liked the color pink and he liked unicorns and girlie things like that- but I kept my mind open. He was a musician for a living, which doesn't really mean anything about his sexual preferences but he did wear a musical note earring in one ear. He swore he wasn't gay, but I think he was just in the closet and didnt' want to come out.
He dissappeared a few days later and I never heard from him again.
hmm... maybe he met a special guy :P
I am gay and my gaydar either hates me or is broken.=/
that sounds like something that would happen in a movie hahahha.
Gaydar? Don't have one, I Don't think I need one. Or maybe I just encounter a lot of bi curious guys?
But where can I buy one?
:)
I'm a lesbian and my gaydar is pretty...uhm....shitty....
A lot of my straight friends do a better job of guessing which girls are lesbians and they tend to be right. ::sigh::
It sucks.
I tend to fall a lot for straight girls.
I'm sorry to hear that happened to you.
In response to your question, I feel that I have pretty good gaydar. I have been around so many different types of people, and that has improved my gaydar. I think I get it from my grandmother, she always said NJ's former governor was gay before he came out.
my gaydar's failed me twice.
I'd rather not assume someone's gay at the instant I meet them. But still...I've fallen for gay men not knowing they were gay.
Honestly, I've turned my gaydar off. For example, almost everyone in choir thought that our new choir teacher was gay. I decided not to be judgmental, especially since I have no problem with gays and he seemed like a pretty cool guy. Turns out he's just a swimmer. Why does everyone assume swimmers are gay, just becuase they have that type of body?
Then everyone found out that over the summer he started dating a choir teacher in our district from across town. So, Ha! I was right!
Yes, unfortunately, that has happened to me. Sigh.....
It used to be great. I question it now. I met an awesome guy who I thought was gay... until he kissed me and I found he was not. I've never been so happy to be wrong.
I'm 99% accurate with men; 15% with women -- which is a shame cuz I'm a bisexual WOMAN!!
Well, your gaydar musn't be very good then. Considering he (a man) was wearing the same shirt that you (a female) owned.....
I know that Emos were their sister's clothing, but they are all closet homosexuals anyway.
