Miss Double ShotI watched the Olympics almost all weekend, and, of course, the name that kept coming up in both commentators' and my Facebook friends' discussions was Michael Phelps.
Bob Costas is crazy about him because he can swim faster than anyone else in the world, but the college-aged girls who connected with me online love him because they think he's attractive.
I asked a friend why she liked him and she couldn't put it into words. "I mean, it's not like he's actually good-looking," she said, "but I think talent makes you automatically hotter no matter what you look like."
Is my friend right?
Maybe it's musical, athletic or scholarly . . . What kind of talent gets you going?

A guy who can express himself beautifully through any form of music - whether it be writing, composing or performing - usually is able to capture my heart.

But I'm more attracted to musicians though and I can't explain it. David Cook isn't the most attractive person in the world but I still find him really hot.

His talent and skills are what has put him out there for the world to see. I don't know that I'd notice him if he weren't in the public eye...but I am very glad that he is. How else would I get to see him in those skimpy little Speedos, and those low-riding unitards (when he pulls the top down like last night)?! I have a thing for tall, skinny (thos muscles don't hurt either) guys!!
Talent is sexy. So are brains. And when they happen to be attached to a good looking guy, then it's a win-win situation!

I adore musicians and writers/poets. I had the hugest crush on most of the high school swim team, so Michael just continues that for me. Oh, and I love that he openly loves his mom. 
I have a major thing for musicians.
talent or scholarly knowledge automatically makes the person hotter..it's just an attribute that proves the person to be a bit more skilled.
on the other hand, I think breeding is somewhere in the back of our minds, and we girls wouldn't mind making talented children with talented hubbies. hah.
I love girls who are musically talented, especially singing well and being able to play the piano. It really hits the heart, ya know?
Yeah, I totally found Michael Phelps attractive mostly because he is not only talented but so completely driven. Oh yeah, and he has a cute smile. =)
I get knocked over by intelligence and musical talent. My last boyfriend snagged me in through his amazing tutoring. But OMG musical talent. I completely swoon without rhyme or reason for a guy who is musically talented, especially in singing and/or guitar. Because who doesn't love the possibility of singing duets together? <3

musicians and writers, especially for me. And I think the music thing goes for most girls. My cousin is hideous but he can wail on the guitar and he never has less than 5 girls he's talking to. He also has a great personality though, go figure.
I was having this same conversation with my cousin...he was saying something along the line of "That dudes ugly, but I bet you girls like him because he's an athlete".
I told him I was part of that group of girls (though I will say I can pinpoint a characteristic of Phelps that I like: his eyes), but it's more than that.
In general I like all kinds of men with talent, because if you have the dedication to devote yourself to something you're passionate about and the perseverance to become known for it and do it extremely well, that just speaks volumes about your character. That kind of concentration is admirable and truth be told, sexy.
Of course, my cousin wouldn't understand that, but ohhhh well :D
Musicians for me. Maybe it's just because I'm a musician myself but anybody who loves performing and can carry their end of a conversation about music, yeh, definitely has my attention. And if they play the guitar... forget it, I'm sold...

all of my exes and crushes have been musicians, artists, and dancers. All of them have either been a combination of two or all three. The most common combination I'm attracted to is musician and artist (the first guy I fell in love with played like 6 instruments). My boyfriend is an ex trumpet player, an artist, and a bboy.
I don't do it on purpose though. I only made this connection after I began dating my current boyfriend.
I've dabbled in viola, spent countless hours in marching band (colorguard), go to art school, and I'm in a couple dance groups. So it makes sense.
intelligence and wit
Talent can definately make up parts if you're not so good looking. If someone is increasingly talented in their art work that can be a turn on, or even just in wits.

it's also fame i think. if a guy is pretty good looking like phelps, but highly successful and talented, it's very magnetic.

I AGREE W/ YOUR FRIEND. TALENT, OR A PASSION FOR SOMETHING, CAN BE INCREDIBLY ATTRACTIVE. I JUST STARTED SEE THIS GUY WHO PROMOTES PARTIES AS A SECOND JOB. WE'D BEEN DATING FOR A COUPLE MONTHS, BUT I WENT TO ONE OF HIS GIGS AND GOT TO SEE THAT SIDE OF HIM. LOOKING AT WHAT HE'D PUT TOGETHER, AND HIM AT WORK, I'D NEVER BEEN MORE TURNED ON TO HIM THAN I WAS IN THAT MOMENT. THAT WAS THE SEXIEST THING I'D SEEN HIM DO. WHETHER IT'S A HOBBY, OR A CAREER, SEEING SOMEONE PASSIONATE AND ENTHRALED BY SOMETHING IS SEXY
For me it's not just talent, but also the passion to develop that talent... I love seeing people being passionate about something, whether it's a worthy cause, an athletic ability, music, writing, or whatever. To specifically answer your question, though, I guy who can sit down at a piano and make beautiful music with seemingly little effort automatically appears gorgeous.
hmm just knowing how to carry yourself is enough talent ... and Knowing how to be well rounded all together. I think that its nice to know how to do flips, sing, dance, and act, etc... but when it comes down to it, its the personality that draws us in. Having strength and confidence is a plus. Confidence in the form of being sure of oneself and strength in the form of never giving up. I think that is by far an extremely attractive talent. Also someone that is not ignorant or close minded. I love people who open there minds to whats out there, crave knowledge, use it to their advantage.. with good intention.. and try to understand where others come from.
I also think that talent can be in the form of humor... there are those people that are always sweet, happy, and contagious to their environment.. I see these kind of people making the best out of any given situation.
