Miss Double ShotWhile I was at Target this weekend picking out cheap shampoo, I watched a guy and a girl ransack the deodorant aisle in search of the perfect scent for him. She'd choose one, smell it and immediately veto it and put it back on the shelf. He wasn't quite as picky as she was, finding most all of the scents acceptable, but it was still both funny and endearing to watch them work together to find a scent they both liked.
Inevitably, when they picked out a winner, it was one she'd picked out for him.
What is your favorite scent for guys/girls to wear? Do you wear any particular perfume or scented product?
(I wear Miss Dior Cherie and I like boys who smell like clean laundry

)

I don't know about any specific scents, but I do like fresh, clean, just-out-of-the-shower smells while my boyfriend seems to be fond of fruity, citrusy, anything-that-smells-like-sweet-food smells.
I never was a fan of things that were scented. I guess I believe that if you can't stand the smell of your SO then the two of you really aren't compatible. Body odors are very natural and other creatures on this earth use natural scents and odors to attract mates so why shouldn't the same be true for people?
I normally wear Body by Victoria Secret and any Body Splash product by Victoria Secret and I like guys who just got out of the shower and puts on a deodorant smell.
I dated a guy who uses Ralph Lauren cologne before. Great taste :)
I like clean, crisp, NON-CHEMICALLY smells on guys. Just a shower with some light fruity or sweet soap will be perfect. I DO like *some* colognes very much, but usually it depends very broadly on who's wearing it!
On myself, I use a whole variety of things! But they usually smell sweet/fruity. I'm big on raspberry, honey-oatmeal, and mango. My boyfriend loves VS Strawberries & Champagne shampoo, but then, he just loves the smell of shampoo in general.
I tend to play with my perfumes, but I stick with either a citrus-y smell or a vanilla/lavender scent. My SO prefers the vanilla/you smell like cookies kind of scent. He loves when I have my tanning oil on because its a very strong vanilla/cocoa smell. I tend to prefer in my SO that it's just a showered, deodorant smell. I'm not fond of colognes and I'd rather he just smell nice than overpowering. But I do like his deodorant...still not sure what it is!
I usually wear something sweet like Victoria's Secret's fruity strawberry spray or Escada Island Kiss, and my boyfriend has told me before that I smell like Skittles...and he loved it. xD
Also, if I truly like a guy, I'll like his natural scent. I've only been serious with two guys before, and I loved their natural scent. I suppose I believe in pheromones.
Old Spice original. I don't know what it is about it, but the smell drives me nuts. When my boyfriend found out I liked it, he bought the shower gel, deodorant, and the spray. He's weeded out most of them now, switching for a stronger deodorant and he only wears the spray at certain times. But, he always uses the shower gel. When he gets out of the shower, I want to jump him. :)
As for me, my boyfriend prefers the most natural scent I can get. He does, however, like the clinique perfume called miracle. Light and citrusy.
My favorite scent to wear myself is vanilla.
For my SO? I don't think I have one. I liked my first serious boyfriend's cologne (don't know what it was though) but now that smell is so intertwined with my memory of him that I wouldn't like it on anyone else.
If this wasn't obvious and bad fiction I would say you are creepy when you shop.
I really like Curve's "Crush". it has a really light smell. I was never really into the whole musky/woodsy scent thing
Irish Spring body wash, Issey Miyake cologne, both suggested to me by girls :).
@sorjai@xanga - Ooh Issey Miyake cologne...my ex wore that and I loved it! Reminds me of some good times.
I don't have a specific cologne I like on guys. As a general rule I like most colognes though and it's a big plus to me if a guy wears it. My dad wears Calvin Klein's "Obsession" so normally if a guy wears that I feel an instant of "normalcy" around him. Old spice is what my first BF wore and so while I'm not a fanatic about it, I still think it'd be weird for a SO to wear it. That smell was never a favorite of mine anyway.
Are y'all ever like it? Where certain colognes/perfumes remind you of someone?
i'm still a big fan of axe xD
orrrr fabric softener lol i love the smell of clean clothes ahha
i used to be a sucker for issey miyake - just a hint of it, enough to draw my attention from whatever i was doing. i still like it, but mixed with that clean, showered, but still smells like a GUY scent. know what i mean?
and for myself, i wear Philosophy's Amazing Grace. it's the only scent i can stand to wear all day (i'm not normally a fan of perfume).
Old Spice is really nice but the scent gets onto the shirts easily and stink them up. I think just a light scented deodorant is just fine for a male, something that won't clog your nose when you're about to do their laundry.
As for females, anything lavender or very feminine! It boggles me when I see some chics who use Old Spice or other male deodorant. It makes them smell like a man too.
asian guys usually don't wear anything, but i love love love it when they wear giorgio armani's acqua di gio. it's a classic. and i always wear dolce and gabbana's light blue. guys love that stuff. lol.
Pheromones.
My boy wears Old Spice and even though it smells clean, it makes him an old man. LOL. I don't know, I just associate Old Spice with older men (like in their 30s and 40s...must be the commercials).
I don't wear perfume that much but I like VS's line.
I like my guy fresh, my boyfriend tends to wear Axe which I do love and will go in the store just to smell it. He smells good when just gets out of the shower though. I wear a lot of fruity scents and vanilla/lavender. The boyfriend really likes vanilla because it reminds him of cookies.
i just like the smell of clean. like frehs laundry and soap like dial irish spring dove and stuff like that, lol
i wear Perry Ellis 360 (the original one... not all those new renditions, Blue, Red, Woman, whatever...). i had an ex-bf who wore PE 360 Men just to match me, but obviously that didn't hold our relationship together.
i like my dude to smell clean and fresh.. like a spring meadow. so those fragrances that smell like grass or rain... i like those. oh... and Eternity for Men is pretty good. and there's this CK one that a friend of mine was wearing... i can't remember which one but that smelt *amazing* on him. i used the fact that it was my birthday (and i was hammered out of my mind) to just hang all over him all night because he smelt so good. i remember telling him at least 3 times that i thought he smelt amazing (but i was pretty wasted, so i probably said it lke a zillion times). good thing we're close friends like that. otherwise, i might have given him the wrong impression.
i hate those musky scents (like Old Spice). blech!
The sense of smell invokes memories past.
Even ten years after the end of a relationship, if we are walking through a mall and we smell a certain perfume or cologne, we often find ourselves stopping in our tracks, or at least turning our heads out of instinct. We remember, subconsciously, what our lovers smelled like -- and while we cannot invoke those memories at will, when they are triggered by direct stimulation, we remember with the such clarity that it seems not a day has passed since we last saw them.
When the sense memory of Smell is activated, and we deprive ourselves of visual and aural input (closing the eyes, being in a quiet room), we can begin to experience the sense memories that are buried deeper; touch and taste. We begin to remember what it felt like for a lover to unbutton our shirts, to run their hand over the bare skin of our chests and shoulders. We begin to remember what it felt like for their lips to touch ours. And then the deepest sense memories come out and we remember, in the most powerful recollection of all, the taste of their kiss...
@haemina@xanga - Amazing Grace is my favorite scent EVER. Great taste.
Philosophy products are all great in general.
