  • Dating Disasters: When Nature Calls...

This is a guest blog submitted by mikeljason.

We all have bad dates, and once some time has passed, we can actually look back on them and laugh (sorta). They make for funny stories afterward but are pretty horrible when they're happening.

The worst date I ever had happened a few years ago. I'd had a little crush on a co-worker, and I'd finally worked up the courage to ask her out - lucky for me, she said yes when I asked!

We met up for a few drinks, danced and ran around NYC's Lower East Side. We dipped into a club to catch our breath and use the bathroom - because of all the drinks and excitement, I was loose and feeling goooooood. The early evening jitters had disappeared and we were both enjoying ourselves. The club was only supposed to be a pit stop, but because the music was pretty good, we decided to stay for a bit.

We'd been drinking throughout the night, so my bladder was pretty full and I had to pee really badly. My judgment may have not been the best, either . . . (I take it back - my judgment was horrible).

The line to the bathroom seemed a mile long, so I thought, "oh well, the corner by the plant . . . oh yes, that should work well". I saddled up and as soon as the first drop hit the floor, I felt the hands of a burly black figure on my shoulder and on the back of my pants. I'd just been given the bum's rush for my indiscretion. I was lucky not to get arrested or punched by the security guys.

Needless to say, my date was none too pleased. I asked to walk her home, but she was "quite OK, thank you".

It's too bad it went down like that. I did really like her, but after what was the worst date of my life and most likely the dumbest thing a guy had done with her on a date, it wasn't going going to happen.

Now it's your turn - what's the story of your worst date ever?

well...i  guess the worst thing that happened to me was my date passed out and left me to fend for myself with his sadistic friend who (for some strange reason) went along with us...which in and of itself would have made it in the top five of worst date categories...but he kept pulling on the car steering wheel and doing other stupid stuff til the cops pulled us over...then he wouldn't stay in the car and i thought he was going to get us all shot...not a great night

he took a long time to respond to questions. he was very very slow. and i got annoyed. hahhaa

He was older then he said he was, and basically only wanted to get into my pants. He was older than me by i would say... 8 years or so. He pissed me off since I had dropped my gloves at a restaurant he took me too and wouldn't go back. From there on out, i just wanted to leave.

Or there has been a guy were he didn't really talk much, just laugh obnoxiously. That date sucked. He couldn't find anything to say so i was doing all the talking, all he did was laugh.

I really don't have any worst dates; it's more like awkward. I went on a date with some guy who literally spoke about ten words to me the whole time. I tried so hard to strike up a conversation with him and he only gave me one word responses. Eventually I just gave up trying and waited till the date was over. And he was the one who asked me out.

In my opinion, the worst thing that could happen on a date is being stood up.

My friend dragged me along to her boyfriend's house and tried to set me up with his roomate. They left me in the living room with this weirdo - and he was under the impression that we were going to do it or something. He kept talking about weird shit and i got really freaked out and kept texting my friend in the other room to get me the hell out of there.... but she ignored me. He started playing retarded emo music and sat there explaining to me how emo his life was....

finally, out of desperation, i started playing with their cat (which i'm  VERY ALLERGIC to) and made my eyes swell and i broke out into hives.

When i yelled at my friend that i was dying - she was horrified at how swollen i got and finally took me home.

Let's see...I had a couple of pretty bad "dates" if you could call it that.  One guy, who was in the same department as me (psychology), took me out to dinner.  During dinner, I didn't talk too much because I felt a little nervous around him.  He was like, "You seem...distant" and I looked at him like, "Did you just pull a therapist comment on me?!"  Later he left me standing in the middle of the sidewalk so he could 'go over to his friend's place' (he did invite me but I declined), kind of expecting him to walk me back first because we lived on campus and we were only a couple blocks away!  At least have the decency to walk a girl home!!

Another time, this other guy asked me, during dinner, if I had 'gained or lost weight'.  I gave him a weird look and said, "Wth?  You know, I have a steak knife in my hand.  You shouldn't be asking a girl those kinds of questions."

Hahaha smooth. I bet she told all her friends "he's definitely a winner." Hahaha. :)

Hhhmm... My first date ever was probably my worst date ever. I was 13 and my mom drove us to the movies and then we went to dairy queen. we had been dared to go out with each other and had never talked before so we had nothing to say with each other.

No, I take that back. The worst date ever was when this guy invited me out with his friends, which ended up being his two macho guy friends who proceeded to start a fight at the bar we were at with some stranger who beat them at pool.

My worst date was a set-up double date I wasn't too aware of. We went to a baseball game with two of our friends from school. My date and I ended up on the gigantic kiss screen - in which I just hid my face, lol. Then it rained and the game got canceled. However, his car wouldn't start in the parking lot so we had to find some people nice enough to help us in the rain. Needless to say, it was mortifying. By the end of the night I was embarrassed, cold, and drenched.

My worst date was meeting up with a guy that I met online for the second time.  We had lunch one afternoon and a couple days later, we went to a movie.  Well, during the second "date", he kept wanting to hold my hand the entire time we were together, especially during the movie.  He would hug me and then he tried to kiss me!  This was only a couple weeks after my ex had decided he didn't want anything to do with me so I wasn't ready for any of that stuff.  I just wanted to have fun!  He couldn't take a hint so finally, I just had to start ignoring him whenever he said he wanted to hang out again.

it was the first time i went out with a complete stranger i met online (don't blame me i was just 16:)...my friend was with me for support,we were waiting for him in one coffee-shop and as soon as this bold,dark-skinned guy around 26 appeared on the entrance i recognised him by his "looking around" look and told my friend to run away...but she said "come on,i feel sorry for him, let's just talk a little with him"...i said "ok" and then we met :)...  he started boasting how much he earned, then he told me in details about his cat with some strange name, then he invited me at his house to meet his mother because he felt he was in love with me(can you imagine!) and wanted to marry me....it's needless to explain my reaction and what followed:) that's why i don't date guys online :)

The worst date I ever went on was one during which I didn't realize it was a date.

    'Nuff said.

    Notable lines were:

"Uhm.. you don't have to pay for everything you know, what is this, a date or something?"

    -.... uh... yes?

  • Andrea_TheNerd@xanga

Getting stood up on a double date.  Not only did he not tell me he couldn't go, there were two witnesses there, who carelessly made out in front of me the whole time I was alone.
