the Brady excuse worked like a charm, right? Turns out that the guy I would ask to prom my senior year would use a similar excuse on me and I'd get a taste of my own medicine.
He played three instruments, was on the varsity volleyball team, was on my soccer team and always passed to me so I could score and was cool without even trying - and I was kind of in love with him.
So, my senior year, I did what any self-righteous shy senior girl would do to ask a guy out - I put a note in his locker asking him to prom ("What are you doing April 12? You might need a tux . . . ")
He turned me down . . . online!
him: so about April 12...
me: yesssssss?
him: I have a volleyball tournament.
me: oh
[what seems like hours passes]
him: gtg, bye
I was upset but got even madder when a friend told me later that his volleyball tournament had ended at 2 p.m. and prom started at 8.
Oh, karma . . .
Have you ever been brutally rejected when asking someone out?

oh no. i'm so sorry to hear that... there's definitely been some oh -insert awkward silence here- moments in my life too... nothing i would care to rehash online though.
Ouch. I remember those awkward online conversations when the silence hit. What a rude boy!
hey at least he didn't turn you down saying he wasn't going and then show up anyway with the girl you hated!
oh wait, that was me.
Fortunately that never happened to me, because like most people I was afraid of rejection, therefore I never confessed my feelings to anyone.
But ahh, that's really brutal indeed... I take it you didn't go to the prom after all? :/
@AdiOpERsOcoM@xanga - oh, i went by myself . . . and had a blast. :)
